Have only just watched the Broncs game - we let the Roosters back in big time. Still some work to be done in defence.

i'm in the comp at work on the same site and it's simple, 1 point per game and 1 bonus point for a perfect week

rules
you can set them up anyway you like in the begining
i chose the following options
correct tip = 2 pts
incorrect tip = 0 pts
draw = 5 pts
full round = 5 pts bonus

what about the margin we pick, how does that affect it week to week?

my work one doesn't have the discriminator match

the margin is just to determine weekly winners and doesn't add to the weekly score at all. i probably could have left that out as there's no weekly prize like in some comps.

yeah i though 5 was a good bonus cause it's so hard to pick that if you get the round you deserve a bonus and can make the game interesting with people randomly getting the round leaping to the lead.

the Knights got the better of the Dragons. anyone watch? big Dells first 2 tries and his gob off to McDruggie were classic, unfortunately he went off too early but it was certainly good value. but a win for the Knights has me 2-3 despite a good start last night (and luck in the Titans game i think). the dragons let me down so here's hoping the next game, Rabbits v Eagles, can live up to my bold statements.

yeah bascially all the s*** c***s in our ladder picked the tigers, so one for them i guess

wouldn't be backing the knights this year, they are getting a bit of a poser status imo, they have played ok to beat some ok teams but they don't seem as genuine as say a bulldogs or st george outfit

I had a dud round - 2/5. Thought Manly, Melbourne and the Cowboys would be missing their Origin players too much.

And yes, rule of thumb - NEVER tip Broncos during Origin, even if they are your team, especially not the game before Origin 2, as we always have at least 6 out.

The refs seriously need to work on their calls, there was some atrocious calls made. Because of that broncos were able to score a try.. They made a call against warriors saying he was tackled, when he wasn't..

Dave taylor should be called up for origin 3, his hit ups were powerful..As wally or fatty said, hopefully the rabbitohs can get him to trim down a little and keep him under control, he'll be a real threat for them.

Nah, I mean I would literally randomly make selections and just look at the score I had, not which teams won and which didn't. It'd be quite easy to keep it fairly blind.

Even after all the games are played, the other obvious way to do it is to just flip a coin for every game that was played, and see how that goes. Of course, you'd have to counter-balance which teams get heads vs tails according to home and away games.

Be better if we are still around for next season. Get everyone starting from round 1.

Billy, I'm not sure what you would be trying to show from that other than your accuracy should be 50% compared to the people that know a bit about the sport having a greater accuracy.

so all my hard work tipping will be for nought, coz no mofo is gonna pay

It's just the way our comp has been set up. You can change it to have individual cut offs for each game, which is what I did for one I set up. That way if there is a late injury or something, you can make a change if you want.

I'll happily take third, although maybe a late charge for second is on the cards...

i checked our comp and noticed i had nominated the finals series...
so being the evil overlord that i am i have now made the following changes, (just to spice things up!)

for the finals and GF
Correct tip - 5
Incorrect tip - 0
All correct bonus - 10
Tip a draw - 10

and you have up to 5 mins before EACH match to submit (damn should have read this properly the first time)
so we'll give our top 3 their kudos...well done woopee!!
but maybe there's a slim chance someone can leap ahead in the finals series.
