An all-new video for the revisited classic side-scrolling styles of Mario and co has emerged from Germany, New Super Mario Bros. Wii showcasing the game's impressive visuals, innovative new Mario gameplay elements and the much touted four-player cooperative mode.

There's no denying this game will fly off the shelves when it lands on Wiis this Holiday season, and despite not having a brand new 3D Mario adventure until sometime next year, I'm finding it difficult to contain my anticipation for this (must be the old Ninty fanboy in me trying to escape).

Check out the new trailer right here.

The graphics are fine, the music is disappointing though.

looks like fun, but it also looks like they've shown every level in the game so they'll be no surprises...

As long as you can use the Wii Classic controller and not forced to use the Wiimote, I'm totally up for this game.

If it is basically a co-op Super Mario World, then I have a hard on.

bout time, that looks awesome.. i haven't liked any of those 3d marios. It was actually Great Giana Sisters that I played, but same thing.

I've tried New Super Mario on ds, the wii version looks far nicer. Be good to play it on a bigger screen too.

Pretty sure you hold the Wiimote sideways for this.

That's the basic jist of it, just with different powerups.

Really looking forward to this, I'm a big fan of 2D games rendered in a 3D space

Yeah, that was the case with paper mario and it was complete balls (using the controller like that, not the game) but I'm pretty sure paper mario came out before the classic controller though so I'm hoping that they include it on this, I mean given they allowed the use of the classic controller on mario kart, you'd think this would be a no brainer.

i had no issues with using the controller sideways, worked well enough;

paper mario was a pretty bad game though

Erm, the Classic Controller has been available since launch.
I don't see an issue with holding the Wiimote sideways, works fine in plenty of games (Bomberman Blast, Excite Truck, Punch-Out!!).
