It still hasn't been officially released by Blizzard, but thanks to Korean website www.thisisgame.com, the third installment of StarCraft 2's "Battle Report" videos found its way online over the weekend.

StarCraft 2 Battle Report 3 is another detailed gameplay video featuring 17 minutes of a developer narrated battle between the Zerg and Protoss factions. You can now find this one locally, streamable in the AusGamers video library or download the full HD version from AusGamers files (528MB).

I think some places that peer with where we host offer free downloads with us, yeh - dunno who though

if you note the bottom of the AG download page there's (now) a link to the GA mirror... we have a new system which we're trialling which will aggregate other Aussie download links and put them on there so you can get directly to a download we post about on your ISPs local mirror.

Yeah closed beta, a while ago they released this little program that would collect your system specs so they can choose whether or not they want to use u as a beta participant.

I had completely forgotten about this game. Aren't they releasing it in chapters, or something gay like that?

yeah from what i read up last time, the game is being released as 3 standalone titles. The difference between each one is the single player, with each one focussing on a single race. No idea how they're going to deal with the multiplayer. Each expansion might adds new units to every race, otherwise only the hardcore SC players would buy all 3 expansions.

I would think the multiplayer would have all units and races available.

Also seems weird just having 2 other 'installments' that are just single player campaigns.

Another subscription like $$ grabbing technique?

Edit: oh the HD vid it is out now :]

In other news, there is some NDA covered press event being held at the moment and I hear talk of a big announcement from Blizzard next week.

Starcraft was the big news at Blizzcon last year, I really hope its not more Starcraft 2 s*** being announced this year, I want to hear more about Diablo 3 or their un-announced original IP thingy.

No, it's not. They specifically said that it's a new IP greazy.

That's interesting because the two unnamed projects they have going are: an unnamed MMO and an IP which uses the world of warcraft engine for testing purposes.

So it's either a MMO or a game that uses a MMO engine for testing purposes (ie: a MMO)

Yes, it's an mmo with new IP from memory - there's post about if somewhere.

heh. when i first started the video n heard the yankee commentators i thought 'this is gonna be s***' ... but it was actually damn cool coz i have no idea about the new units n hearing thier names n abilities called out was cool. some really nice tactics too by both players. those protoss force fields were used really well. def looking forward to getting my hands on starcraft2 now :D

It was cool but it was so obvious that the game was somewhat set up or at the least the players had some guidelines so as to show off some of the cooler tactics that can be utilised. You would have thought the P would have gotten observers (he had the tech, it wouldnt have taken much) after losing his army twice to an ambush on that bridge.

I don't think they put constraints on the players. Protoss still won in the end, observers can be seen by overlords and they might not be worth the $$.

So you dont think the games (1, 2, and 3) were somewhat set up? Eh! each to their own :)

You could be right (i have only seen #2 + #3). Developers might say to them what aspects they want showcased before they start.

I like to think they just picked one of the beta progamers replays that fit the criteria nicely.
