A new fix for Firefox has landed - as always we heartily recommend upgrading as soon as possible. The only changes are to correct a minor security problem and fix a crash. You can download the new version locally from AusGamers for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. More information about the changes is available on the download pages. On the topic of web browsers, we recently officially stopped supporting Internet Explorer 6, so users of that browser will get a massive warning at the top of the page asking them to upgrade (with a handy link to Firefox). Most of the site functionality is still available, but it'll look sort of broken. If you're interested to see what browsers people are using, have a look at this graph. Firefox has the lead, closely followed by IE, with Chrome running in third. |

I thought only Microsoft products needed constant security fixes.

Be prepared to update your Adobe products again too. Another exploit found in their PDF structures. Adobe Reader 'getAnnots()' Javascript Function Remote Code Execution Vulnerability http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/34736/info There is a sample exploit javascript there. Its not a simple exploit to implement as you have to create a PDF and attach the javascript to OpenAction. |

This Post reminded me of a Blog post I read recently regarding messages to people using IE6.heh we were tempted to put them on but thought that might be a bit confrontational. here's another good one if you're a webadmin-type and you're over supporting IE6. |
