I just got the pop up for 3.0.9 to be updated; there's 9 security fixes included in this release.
  • Fixed several security issues.
  • Fixed several stability issues.
  • Many users experienced an issue where a corrupt local database caused Firefox to “lose” its stored cookies. (bug 470578)
  • Fixed an issue where, starting with Firefox 3.0.7, inline image attachments on popular webmail services (like AOL and AIM) would not display. (bug 482659)
  • Large forms would sometimes take a long time to submit. (bug 426991)
  • In certain cases, new windows would not have proper focus. (bug 446568)
  • See the Firefox 3.0.8 release notes for changes in previous releases.
Download the update locally from AusGamers. promoted/edited forum post

(for future reference, if you hit up http://www.ausgamers.com/files/request/ with things like this I'm working on a SECRAT PLAN to try and figure out how to give people prizes and stuff for requesting cool s***)

edit: took some liberties with your post dude, hope you don't mind.

Just noticed that 3rd line, fixed for the corrupt database - I had that exact problem, took me a while to realise what was going on. Ended up deleting my cookies database and starting from scratch which was a bit lame; glad it is fixed.

I hope they fix some stupid bug that pegs the machine at solid 50% cpu (dual core)
It seems completely random. Might be one of the half dozen extensions installed.

I lost my Bookmarks toolbar the other day...pissed me off. The book marks are still in the bookmark section under "Bookmarks Toolbar", and I have the tool bar clicked to show it, but all thats there now is an empty grey space.

is every point release of firefox newsworthy? especially since firefox users will get patched automatically

I hope they fix some stupid bug that pegs the machine at solid 50% cpu

prolly extensions, i've disabled a couple because they s*** themselves especially with large numbers of tabs. i guess extensions get a fair few liberties with memory etc?
