That's right, if you haven't had the cajones to man (or lady, as the case may be) up and switch the light off to play Alone In The Dark (or were just scared of the game because of its media backlash), Atari have announced that a demo for the title is now available on Xbox Live from the Marketplace.

Featuring selected playable levels from the first and second episodes of the game, players will be able to try the innovative gameplay first hand including the combination of items to create unique and powerful weapons, the real-time handling of objects to overcome enemies and obstacles, and the use of fire as a devastating weapon.

The game is in-stores now on pretty much every platform except PS3, which a version for will arrive later this year. We can only assume the game really isn't doing so well, leaving Atari acting quickly to give gamers a taste of what the game has to offer (we're not sure because we didn't get a copy).
