We've nabbed some new Xbox 360 screens for Left4Dead from Valve that show off some of the user interface (UI), for anyone wondering how the game will work on the home console. For the rest of you only interested in the PC version, we also managed to get an updated system requirements manifest.

To run L4D comfortably on your PC, you'll need the following:
  • OS: Windows XP, Vista, Vista64
  • CPU: 3.0 GHz P4, Dual Core 2.0 or AMD64X2 (or higher)
  • RAM: 1 GB for XP / 2GB for Vista
  • Disc drive: DVD-ROM Drive
  • Hard drive: At least 7.5 GB of free space
  • Video: Direct X 9 compatible video card - Video card must be 128 MB or more and should be a DirectX 9-compatible with support for pixel shader 2.0 (ATI 9600 or high. Or, Nvidia 6600 or higher)
  • Sound: Direct X9.0c compatible sound card
If you want to check out anymore for this highly anticipated release, head over to our Left4Dead game page.

Pretty low sys-reqs for a modern title. Screenies do look ok though, so I guess it must scale pretty well.

I don't understand why it requires 7.5GB of space. That seems a little excessive.

I assume that'd be smaller for those of us that already have source games installed.

I'm too lazy to look this up myself, but does the Xbox 360 version have on-console split-screen co-op/multi? If it does, the instant friend-on-couch factor would totally make me get that version over the cheaper easier to play PC version.

Visually its nice, but it really doesn't compare to a more modern FPS.

also iinet has 2 steam servers. I'd say they would put the l4d content on them come release day.

It's not up to them, it's up to Valve to do that. And they generally don't seem to bother doing this, judging from all the tears we get on new release day.

By them I meant valve. Pretty stink that they don't bother though. Maybe if american ISP's introduced 40gig caps we would be happy...

is there site you can go to that actually tells you what is on each steam server...

I just use the program steam watch http://www.users.on.net/~marttinen/SteamWatch/

it stops me using other steam servers

But yeh just waiting for the aussie dollar to get better!

Plus it wouldnt be 7gb to download if you have source already....
