Expanding on the post below, i would like to extend an invitation to QLD based Gaming Cafes to run pre-qualifying events for the WCG-QLD Finals. The finals will be held at a QGL LAN event in the next couple of months, so if any Gaming Centre operators are interested, drop me a line at tung@qgl.org and we can discuss this further, and work towards an awesome event for all involved.

Just a bit of a dilemma, since qgl's age limit is 15+ would that rule out any of the current clans that would like to participate in this event compared if it was hosted at a gamming center?

It would rule out 1 or 2 people I would imagine.

Considering its actually illegal for anyone under 15 to be playing CS anyway, I can't see where the problem is.

You can play in the qualifiers at QGL, and if you win that, you go to the big finals at wherever they're gonna be held, and if you win that you go to Korea and play there.

the state's will hold state finals and the winners come to Sydney for the "National" finals then the winners of that go through to Korea :)

Yeah, what confused me though, is do you have to play at a qualifier at a net cafe to be able to play at the state finals? Or can you still just rock up to QGL with your team and enter on the day?

the format i am sketching out at the moment, is there will be net cafe competitions being run to get berths into the sunday leg of the qgl state finals, you can qualify on the saturday at qgl, but it will of course be harder and you wont have a double life on the sunday (may change, im drawing it up as we speak)

and then there will be 1-2 teams from qld going down to wcg, i believe. thats what it was last year anyway.

Tung, I don’t understand what you saying, the impressing I get is that you will have to compete at the Gaming Center which is hosting the event for a fee, than the winners from that are invited to qgl for free?

Or is it like this.

You can compete at qgl or the Gaming Center, but at qgl you will be only given one life only, where as at the gaming center you will be given 2 lives?

I think the only issue you have to address with this being at qgl, is the fact that not everyone has a PC and I think the majority of people just walk of the street into a Gaming Center environment were there are PC’s that are supplied by the center, So I think you might want to organize this issue if it does arise in the competition, that’s if this is the type of model which you intend to make for the competition.

Or have I missed the point and emphasized on something completely different ? :)~
