Looks like Larry's about to be introduced to a whole new generation of people:
Two weeks ago, word leaked out that another Leisure Suit Larry was in the works. Today, VU Games revealed today that it would be publishing the title, Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude, and revealed some details about the new game's plot.

Whereas the original series follows Larry Laffer, a full-grown ne'er-do-well who engages in a series of randy misadventures, Magna Cum Laude will pass the torch to his nephew, Larry Lovage. Developed by High Voltage Software, the game will follow the new Larry as he goes from an unknown Community College student to a minor celebrity on a reality-TV dating show. Along the way, the story will weave through all the usual dorm rooms, keg parties, and night clubs essential to any amorously inclined college student's lifestyle.

Unlike its PC-only predecessors, Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude will also be available on Xbox and PlayStation 2. All three titles have a tentative release date of Q3 2004.
Click here for the source + movie of the game... (update: Grab the trailer from AusGamers)

I second that!

*reaches into box of old skool adventure games*

I'll put Zork:Nemesis and Full Throttle on hold while I give LSL7 a play (or a couple of the older ones if I still have them).

I remember the adult check in the first game. Took me ages to get past it. Had to keep track of the correct answers on paper.

Hope they keep that in the new version.

I still play the original at least once a year, that game had some of the funniest one-liners ever.

It's just a shame that Al Lowe won't be involved with the development of the game - I just hope they manage to capture the fun of the first few and avoid turning it into a kiddy-friendly 8+ nickelodeon fart-gag fest..

And the memorable condom purchase scene...

"What a pervert!"

Larry even found his way into the other Sierra games... there I was shaking down some people in the airport in Police Quest II when suddenly the theme music sounds and the guy says "The names Laffer... Larry Laffer."

Should be worth a look and a few laughs too

i liked the type yor text with the graphical background as well
it made me think

it also taught me to open save games in my hex editor to see what the entire inventory list was and give me a massive boost finishing the game
