Just in case you thought 400,000 people playing one game wasn't enough, Sony and Ubi Soft have recently announced plans to ship a localised version of EverQuest to China:

Ubi Soft sees the move as a great opportunity to reinforce its presence in Asia, which is the number one market when it comes to online gaming. Through this deal, SOE is excited to bring the largest and most beautiful virtual environment to the world’s largest population. Chinese gamers have been eager to access EverQuest, the world’s most popular MMO game for a long time. Being huge fans of fantasy role-playing games, they will finally be able to immerse themselves in one of the most detailed 3D worlds ever created.

It will definitely be interesting to see what sort of boost this gives to the player numbers.

When I was badly addicted to EQ I played rabidly. It was bad :)

Most people see the light and learn how to balance EQ with life hehe. I have not played EQ since the release of BF1942. And before that I was lucky to put in more than 10 hours a week into it.

EQ is a fcuking terrible game, try booting someone of the computer who is playing it...it takes them 20 minutes to hop off because they have to run around and f*** about...I can play a round of CS in that time and probably quit and rejoin 3 times because I get s***ty with it...I hate this game with a passion it is stupid behond belief

I'm iwht you I have arguments all day at work DAOC roxors all over EQ, but this lab won' budge it's proabbly got something to do with the year or so in real life game time he's spent on his char.. Too bad for joo!

I used to play Albion on Kay and Midguard on Merlin. I've been playing it on and off a bit again for the past few months, but I got into the Earth and Beyond beta and that owned me so I'm playing that now for the moment :)

Sorry, but MMORPG-speak makes me want to bang my head on the wall - I find banging my head on a wall helps activate the last sparks of electricity in my brain, allowing me to better understand a game which requires I be more than a total social retard.
