The Moore Park Harvey Norman store sale will be (as far as Vivendi and Harvey's know) the only midnight launch held worldwide. The game will be offered on the night at the special pre-order price of $89.95 (RRP $99.95), the Collector's Edition at $149.95 instead of $159. There'll also be a bunch of giveaways like T-shirts, posters (some laminated) and assorted WarCraft 3 slaw. Rumour has it that there will also be an actual Orc attending (OK, a guy in an orc suit ;) and some Vivendi suits too.

Location is Homemaker's Supa centa on cnr. South Dowling Street and Dacey Avenue .. kind of near the SFS and Fox Studios.

I got a call from EB Indro today regarding my NWN preorder. They are running a midnight release for NWN and Warcraft 3. You have to meet the EB staff at the cinema entrance; 11:30.

is there a similar thing coming to melboune?

Yeh I'm pretty sure the official release date is the 3rd ... the basic point of midnight launches being to legally jump the date in a kind of sort of way.

You are overreacting. Firstly, Bioware have nothing to do with distribtion of the game. In charge here in Australia are the hopelessly inept Ozisoft. Apparently the reason for the delay is that Ozisoft drastically underestimated the demand for copies of NWN. When they realised they wouldnt have enough copies of the game to supply all of the retailers, they delayed the release until more could be printed. Its just a coincidence that the new release date was the same as that of WC3.

I don't think anyone would pruposefully do that. They would try and beat WC3 in order to get more sales.

I've got both WC3 Collector's and NWN on pre-order from EB Indro. Found out about the midnight opening when I placed the pre-order for NWN on Saturday morning.

Pity I forgot to pay for them in full before today. Then I could have claimed them on my tax return this year. Work-related expense. :)

I went to a Moore Park Midnight launch once before and they are awesome! There deffinately is a difference between just selling a product and experiencing a game. Harvey's know their stuff, and i was supprised at how well these guys do a launch.

And unlike EB's who you have to preorder with to get it on the night, with Harvey's you can just rock up and buy it...

i came across a warez scanned version of the manual and tried to read it, but its not as good as being able to read the actual manual :/
i need more ram as well, the game looks like it uses a fair bit and i dont think 256 megs will be enough to run it smoothly

Moridin- so is that launch for nwn only happening at Indro? The eb guy called me up as well, but didnt say Indro, said westfield shopping centre, which theres a couple of. But i don't suppose all of the EB's will be doing a launch. I pre-ordered nwn from the EB at garden city, can i still pick my copy up from Indropilly?

If you pre-ordered your copy from Garden City, and the guy from EB called, then he would have been from Garden City EB. Is it fair then to assume that when he said 'Westfield' that he meant 'Westfield Garden City'? Probably the best thing to do is give them a call.

Note that for the EB launches you must have pre-ordered. Hardly Normal over at Moore Park you just need to bring your 90 bucks and get it.

I'm not sure if there's any non-preorder "launches" happening in Brissy, the Moore Park one is the only one being run in Sydney.

I just picked up a Copy of Warcraft 3 from the Myer Megamart in Sunshine Melbourne.

I didn't realize it wasn't actually released yet. No wonder it chucked a massive wobbly when I tried to get onto Bnet.

I hope Blizzard haven't taken my CD Key as a warezed one and banned me from Bnet

i got my copy this morn... got the collectors edition sweet as and cheap as. :D

heh, i pre-ordered my copy of w3 in mid 2000 and as a consilation for my patients eb has given me $10 off the normal price AND!!! the special edition for the same price as the normal edition (+10 off) so all i have to pay is what $90 or $80 for the limited edition, heh :D
