There's a few new gaming servers around the place. AusGamers CTF is back up (on trial) due to popular demand again at 202.139.234.174:27970. At Wireplay, we've put up a Team Fortress server after that petition calling for it received so many entries. Additionally, there's a new Wireplay Quake 3 Fortress server. Go get some game.

its a hassel trying to find them all myself.

Atm, I think its just default id maps, because I'm lazy. If you're concerned, go get this and this; pretty sure that's the lot.

Can't seem to connect to the CTF server. Just boots me out. Can someone test it..

I'll perform acts of unspeakable kindness if someone could set up a non-faget DOD server. Atm Optus seems to be the best to play on, but its lack of admin, and henceforth, large number of fagets, can be really annoying at times.

I know I'm probably sounding like a broken record, but persistance was always one of my better qualities :)

Thats the problem though, its like a vicious cycle, its empty, so nobody plays on it, so it stays empty, so nobody plays on it...

They need a hl bot that can sit in servers and make it look full so people want to join :)

the dod server is empty because Wireplay is running linux, linux version of 1.2 wasnt released, and everyone wants to play 1.2

I've tried to get in contact with the DOD guys asking about linux 1.2, but its suprisingly hard to find a contact email address for them that actually works...

I think they would probably ignore it anyway since they would be getting the same question from 1000's of sys admins.

But to answer that, they are going to skip 1.2 support for linux, and release it with 1.3 which is supposed to be out this week sometime

I didnt really see the appeal of DOD - It just seems like Firearms but without the customisation.

How exactly is it like firearms? Firearms is way more complicated than DOD. DOD is simple, enjoyable, shoot the crap out of the other team fun. Personally I way prefer the WWII setting as well, it makes a refreshing change from all these "cool" present day military mods.

Alas poor CTF server we hardly knew him at all.
