After downloading that new Halo movie I thought I'd just write some quick thoughts on it for those that are too lazy to download it, or (haha) only have modems. I thought it lacked some of the visual quality of the previous movies they've released (the models were pretty much indistinct blurs; its probably just the projector though rather than the X-Box), so it was hard to get a good idea on how good everything looked. It demonstrates some of the same gameplay and neat physics of the previous movies - the caning around in the jeep thing still looks neat.

The peripheral graphics look really nice - I was impressed by the surf coming in on the beaches, that looked great. There's a bit in the movie after the jeep run where the player jumps out and it switches to first person; it looked good but nothing earth-shattering for the FPS world. It demonstrated a lot of the motion that I've come to expect in FPS games for consoles - perfectly smooth turning every time, obviously due to the controller. The player didn't seem to have any problems moving around though, so it looks like it will be easily playable.

In other news, I'll be at QGL tomorrow morning with the Metal Gear Solid 2 Demo, Zone of the Enders and Onimusha. Japanese versions only sorry (Although you can put onimusha in english)...
