My other comp here has win98 installed (only god knows why) and last night when it was being used ALL icons went black. The names were readable but the little pictures were black. The comp has been restarted, turned off etc, so "whats up wit that?"

ohhhh that was a low one.

i checked the appearance tab and nothing was changed as i was on the comp at the time it happened. i did change one setting just then to c if it made ne difference and it fixed the problem. It looks like it had some kind of a "refresh" effect on the icons. thx mick

Speaking on Windows. A girl came into work yesterday and wanted to know if we hire WinXP and Office. Yeah honey, we don't care if we get done up the ass by Microsoft. God some people are stupid.

I think that's a legitament question, stores hire software out... if she's a n00b then sif she'd have any idea that microsoft is the sort of rough and evil company it is.

Maybe it's YOU who has the problem.

But wanting to hire an actual OS. Normally someone hiring software would have an OS installed anyway. I dunno, just seemed like a stupid question to be asking.

They don't need that idea, they already intend to do that kind of thing in future.

bah theres nothing wrong with 98....my old computer runs 98 (only cus it f***s up with any better os) and my icons (my computer/recycle bin) go walk aobut but they dont go black.....go through every prog....and go into the icon properties....and select the icon (ie refresh each icon) that what i did and it worked fine for me :D (then then again ALL my icons didnt go black)
