Is that all? I was thinking it would be something a lot more significant than your fancy stereo dying...

So, instead of taking advantage of your warranty, you would rather invalidate it and risk screwing it even further with a bodgy repai job?

Take it back into the city, get it fixed or whatever under warranty, instead of opening it up, and f***ing your warranty over.

use the warrenty, dont risk playing with it stuffing it up some more and having voided your warrenty paying $$$ to fix it.

Every now and then you get a bad piece of equipment, doesn't matter what brand it is. Just return it to the city one way or another, get it replaced, and everyone is happy.

Not wanting to start a flamewar, it's sad how b_c_sw has to big himself up all the time, I'm sure some of you can spot it.

Though, best to take it back to your dealer. I've been having trouble with my discman only playing out of one-channel (not headphones, because I'm using the same ones now fine). The nearest Sony repairer is at Milton. I think that's where Megamart said that mine has been sent.

Just take it back, claim it on warranty. Hopefully, you still have the docket. Always keep the docket, put it with the warrenty and registration cards and the manual, and file it in a filing cabinet. Then you know exactly where all your warranty stuff is when you need it.

I'm not denying the fact WarT, I'm just stating that it's useless information he chose to give, in an attempt to raise his self-esteem.

Does it really matter how much it weighs? It's still just as broken.

amp protect means its been overloaded, sounds like either
A) its just plain faulty and crap
B) You have no idea how to plug it in properly and f***ed it

The static your getting is prolly because a fuse has blown and because they amp cant produce its normal power, its pushing it to the max and distorting.

Or it could be somthing else :P

wtf r u talking about man,

1stly: i wasnt tring to show off the model number on which u quoted me on b4, i had to put it there because if i didnt ppl would ask me what kind of amp it is.

2ndly: the only thing i said 2 "bigger myeslf" was 16kg beast and it really is 16kg. and when i was saying it i didnt mean it in the way you interperted it. i was meaning it was HEAVY not "omg its so good cause it weighs 16kg"

and btw wtf has my self esstem got 2 do with a broken amp?

/any spelling errors above i dont care about.

maxe: its bad 2 cover ur amp vents with that speaker ontop of it.

btw: nice sub, what is it?

yeah its been re-arranged a few times since I got it, but the cat sleeps on the amp now, which is probably twice as worse.

Sub is 8" 100 wat, but the tiles and size of my room make it reverb around the place quite nicely indeed.

If any + and - speaker wires are touching each other you may get that message. My system starts flashing PROTECTION and turns off if that happens.

...I have to agree with H_N_Y on this one that he wasn't gloating on anything or trying to make himself "better", all infromation I seemed to think was justifiably relevant...

Without saying it was 16KG's I was thinking "Why the hell just not take it back", after reading it was 16 KG's I can understandw hy he doesnt want to carry it on public transport to the city...

16KG isn't heavy for short-term lifting, but for what he'd have to do, 20KG get's heavier, and heavier, and heavier (etc.) as the good ol' arms work-out.

Maybe someone can give you a lift?
