yeah been using server query for ages now but really try this f***er it's bloody good

atleast qtracker isn't only downloadable from fileplanet

i know server query is good but you may just find this is better

ffs it has BF1942 support already...

as does Serverquery.... well the gamearena version does..

Qtracker makes me feel dirty for using it...

the more i use it the more i like it.....

it looks good and i think the skin system is good but server query is classic and heaps simpler, the only dodgy thing about server query is looks, if the next generation of SQ had skins SQ would be better than everything.

no the only problem with serverquery is searching for LAN games...

tried it, B000000000000000. SQ all the way. even cybergames use it. :P

searches and finds lan games just fine for me, although there was something the other night it couldn't find for some strange reason.

I saw the word "register" on that site, pfft SQ is free and uber! as for skins, skins are gay and should be killed. I don't know about you, but I spend more time playing games than actually looking at the server browser.

I always liked anything you could mod in any way. SQ *is* open source. I figure if someone wants changes to be made to it they'd just do their own mod for SQ

IcDeadPeople - if nats did that then sq would probably require a login/auth server, which could be otherwise used as a bf1942 server!, i know which one i would choose.

icdp that's what ICQ is for. sq does have a buddy list that shows when people on it are on a particular server. try it sometime.

I use Console Connector for cs. Its a pain in the arse when you have SQ running and it launches you into Ausgamers lightning dust and as soon as hl is loaded someone has taken ur spot coz they are a dirty retry spammer. I find with Console connector i hit go and it does all the work.

Sorry SQ, you lose when it comes to cs/hl.

On the other hand when getting a spot on a server is not an issue i would use Sq coz its simple and easy to manage. However it would be nice if the non-gamearena got support for BF1942?!!?!?!

yeah gettin a spot for DOD is a bitch....ya go "wait for free spot" and then itll load up and s*** and itll be full.....maybe make it so that itll connect straight away (ie SQ connects and holds spot) and then hl will load and do the won authentican and s*** like that

I don't mind waiting a little longer for games to be supported... Come on Nathan is just one guy doing this and its awsome! Also its Open Source... so you want skins program it yourself... you can add your own crap. Don't knock it unless you've done better!

The unfortunate thing is some of the To Do list has been To Do for awhile now. That said I like SQ and use it - but I never use the connect feature in it. I just browse the servers and then copy the IP.

That Qtracker thing does look interesting though. And it is apparently free and the $20 registration is more like a $20 donation. I might give it a whirl and see what it's like.

I think filters would be a good idea nats. To weed out any mods that your looking for games in... You can already look yourself but its too hard and time consuming.

Its not a matter of knocking SQ. Its a matter of justifying why we think other programs are better so Nathan can further his success. Had we have said "SQ IS s*** YOU DICKLESS LOW LIFE COW MOLESTING SCUM BUCKETS" i would have been ... knocking it and the community for using it.

I still think there are great things like Console Connector which make other programs better. Even though i would choose SQ for Q3, Mohaa, RTCW. And now for BF1942 woot.

I actually got a rego for GSpy about 2 years ago.

But f*** that now, SQ deos what I want and only good aussie servers, not a s***load I would never play on. (actually I use the GA edition).

Yeh, less resources, less crap, works great, updated quickly. is good.

i just fixed my SQ problem, ive been bitching about it for so damn long, SQ used to kill DNS on my server.. SQ decides to flood TCP conncetions so looking through logs etc etc i finally fixed the problem, increasing tcpconnects per IP on server and NATpooltable to a bigger number as well.. so now all sweet :)

SQ rox so yer... i was about to delete the f***er :P

The 'TODO' is more a list of suggestions, some of which I may never implement :) But it stops people from sending me emails all asking for the same thing.

Some programs are always going to be "better" than SQ - people define better in different ways. Thats why we have the freedom to choose the software we run - I'm just happy some people have found my software to be useful.

I think the buddy list is "a bit gay" too. I dont use it, but other people said they would like such a feature, so I added it.

nats i like the buddy feature but i've found at times that it doesn't remove the icon when the buddy leaves.
