Its a new fukin address every day, I've blocked like 30 of these f***in things... when running through babel fish the only thing that comprehendably translates is spanish I think , and the first bunch had something to do with Bin Laden and taking up arms or some s***... its f***ing annoying because its generated from @hotmail addresses, so can't block the sender or I block msn contacts... can only block the 'blah blah'@ part... and I've blocked heaps!!!

well needless to say of course I just block (which deletes) them and move on anyway.. its just getting annoying, and was wondering if anybody else is getting it (I know Rubba-Chikin does).

People on my contacts send me email it goes there, and also I'm lazy and msn says "You have blah blah new messageS".

I use my optusnet.com.au account, bugger signing up for MSN.

Yeah, well I'm also behind my network and don't check my O@H email from here. Its the family email so I dont use that for email, nor could I be bothered signing up for another one with isp etc etc. Meh, I just wanted to knwo if anybody else was getting it/what it was... not a preach on how gay hotmail is and to not use it (I already know how s*** it is)

Set your hotmail to receive email from known hosts only, then add anyone you give 2 s***s about to your allowed list.

Then being spammed is impossible, unless u have a f***wit friend :P

Most viral related spam comes from spoofed addresses, so its very difficult to tell where it came from.

Replying to most of the commerical spam just lets advertisers know u exist and adds u to more spam lists, you cant really win :P

Most of the commericial spam comes with unsubscribe options, i tried unsubbing from everything i received for a period of about a month, it didnt even slow it down.

So now i just block all addresses and only allow the ones that I need to receive email from, just like adding contacts to msn or whatever i guess.

Basically its in spanish and when translated basically tells you that the file will open your ports so they can get in blah. You can't get rid of it just delete it when you get anything that comes from someone you dun know

If I don't know who the sender is of an email I don't even open it.

i get heaps of this s***, atleast 10 a day, and when you try and block them off, they just come back.

As Dan suggested, change your Hotmail settings so that only people on your list are allowed to send you email. Of course this doesn't actually stop all spam, because MS exempt themselves from that restriction with their own spam laden emails. Recently had one from them that was marked as very important. Took me a minute to find the 2 sentence "important news", which wasn't....The rest of the email was filled with MS spam. Lame.

I wasn't aware that you could use non-Hotmail accounts for MSNM...hmm...might have to add a msn@rukh.net email account or something :)

Speaking of which, I like my set up.

Having rukh.net as with it being generously hosted by those fine folks at AusGamers, I'm able to add as many @rukh.net email addresses I like. What I've done for a number of them is set up email forwards to a forwarding @rukh.net address. Then I filter the forwarding address so that only emails that either I manually forward to it, or those that are automatically forwarded to it and addressed to other @rukh.net addresses get through.
If I sign up for something on the internet, I first create a new email forward for that thing, and have the email forwarded onto my forward account. After things are set up, I either just remove the new email forwarding account, or I keep it and watch to see how long it takes for that brand new account to get spammed before removing it.
By only having one central forwarded account (and a few others), I can cut down on the number of email accounts I need to add to my mail readers.

I get around 20 spam emails a day (not counting all of QglChat of course ;), but all are easily filtered out now.

I get about a billion a day too, I'm too lazy to delete them plus I rarely use hotmail in the first place so it doesn't bother me :)

I reckon Bill Gates sells all our email addresses to ppl who send us endorsements for thier companies just to get more f***ing money! I made a brand - new amil address and I still got spam s***!
