well all those anti cs guys can refrain rom replying to this thread as they should be supporting QLD's gamers no matter what the game is.

the four qld clans competing are nK (bubbz, end|ess, jackal, alphega, force), f'zer0 (methz, am0rst, nitro, WaR-FaC and DeFCoN?), eXodus (Bung, iggy, jimmy, cHIKa, ringo and phase) and sR (nebu, ween, simul, kurandus, neerini)

anyway the first 2 rounds have been completed of the finals to decie who go to Dallas and QLD are putting up a good show.

first round was instant elimination, and double elim after that

Round 1: eXodus played Pantheon and lost, and are now knocked out of the tournament.

sR played wSi, and had a good victory

nK played BMi, and had a convincing victory

and f'zer0 played BRoNX (one of the pre tournament favourites) and spanked them, eliminating nsw's 3rd ranked clan from the tourny!

Second Round:

f'zer0 played nR (pre tournament favourites and NSW #1 clan) and again spanked them, giving f'zer0 two unexpected victories over top NSW clans (after we were told that QLD would not be competitive and shouldn't send any teams but nK)

sR played EXi (vics number one clan) and lost a tough match, but they are still alie and play nR in the losers bracket which will be a very tough match

nK played Pantheon, and lost in a close match, and now will play iCHOR* in the losers bracket.

So QLD are putting up a damn good showing with f'zer0 leading the charge, and nK expected to defeat iCHOR, sR have a tough match against the pre tourney favs, but if f'zer0 can beat them so can sR.

so as it stands

f'zer0 now play EXi, in a possible grnad final prequel, sR play nR to win their way back to winners bracket and nK play iCHOR*, the other match wil be Pantheon vs Ui.

NB: 3 of the last 8 teams were QLD, which is a good showing after we were told we won't be competitive by the admins and all the NSW clans, and ot to bother coming!

It's not a CPL-P, it's the Australian CPL qualifier for the big international CPL tourney held later this year.

nR is giving sR a hard time

f-zer0 continues to dominate any clan they meet taking out the T side against EXi 11-1, whic all but secures them a win

nK is strong against iCHOR, with a small lead

Update:

f'zer0 are now the only remaining QLD team in the competition.

nK had a very narrow loss to iCHOR*, and SR were no match for nR

f'zer0 dominated EXi.

now f'zer0 meet Pantheon (only other undefeated team) for a place in the final.

while Ui, iCHOR, nR and EXi ight it out for the chance to play the loser of Pantheon and f'zer0 for the other spot in the final.

sR will play nK for 7th place.

ok it now down to the nity gritty and thanks to a few phone calls to those that are there, here is the latest update.

Round 1:

losers in Round 1 are out of the competition, BRoNX being the onlt contender for the title being knocked out.

Round 2:

Ui def. iCHOR*
EXi def. sR
f'zer0 def. nR (nR were pre comp favourites and nsw #1 clan) w00t!

Round 3:

iCHOR* def. nK - thus eliminating them
nR def. sR - thus eliminating them
f'zero *spanked* EXi
Pantheon def. Ui

Round 4:

f'zer0 have absolutely dominated Pantheon in the final of the winners bracket and are now through to the final.

As CT they spanked them 11-1, then as T they took out the first 2 rounds, hence winning the match 13-1.

so we now have a QLD clan waiting in the Austalian CPL final, while the best of the rest fight it out for a crack at them, and a chance to head to Dallas!!

NB: as the tournament is double elimination and f'zer0 remain undefeated on their path to the final, even if they lose the final, it will be replayed on another map.

Yer, looks like f0 are all but garunteed the win and the trip over to dallas to compete in the CPL Finals.

Pantheon are only the 4th best NSW Team existence, they used to be cainers but not so much anymore.

but f0 utterly denying EXi Melb and nR IS something, as they were the fav's to win the comp.

Azaria from cls and Keyser have keep us updated with the final between f-zer0 and nR on nuke. f-zer0 are doing it easily, taking out CT 11-1. They've just swapped sides at the time of writing so an update is on the horizion.

Aren't the CPL-P rules, no accessing the console while during the war, therefore the only way possible to record a demo is through hltv, and i am not sure if they are running it..

Queensland team function-zer0 once again proved that they have what it takes, after falling into a slump at the qualifying event. Sporting a lineup to be beckoned with: nitro, methz, flatbeat, defcon and amorst, f-zer0 proved to be unstoppable through the event, ripping through any compeition placed in front of them. After an extremley tense final match against PIL #1 ranked clan (nR) noRemorse; necro, somus, xplicit, neomatrix, seanske and x-liner on f-zer0's strongest map de_nuke, they took it out 11-1 as CT and then after a slow start as T, 3-2.

f-zer0 are off to represent Australia, with 5 plane ticket to Dallas, 7 Nights accommodation at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, entry fees and $500 spending money. I wish them all the best of luck for the event, even though they'll need all the support they can get, I am confident they will be a contender for a solid placing.

Of course, thanks goes to all the other clans who competed in the event, I hope you enjoyed yourselves. Rifle has compiled a list of results for your enjoyment. If any players have any demos at all, please get in contact with me and I'll be more than happy to upload them for you.
