specs:

celeron 600
128 meg ram
onboard sound and video
aus cuw-rm mobo
40x cdrom
5 day old case (big bitch, nice and cool (cold) as well
20 gig western Digital HD
removable HD bay
no monitor keyboard or mouse.
can run windows 2000 or 98 fine.
2000 server didnt like it with active directory (damn microsoft)

well when i was buying my celeron
and they are very close performance wise
though nowadys, celerons aren't worth it
T-birds and durons are better bang for buck, and even the P3's have dropped in price, making them semi resonable...

swat0r celeron chips are comparabe to p3 chips yes, but celerons use a 66MHz FSB and P3s use 133MHz FSB - that is where the bottleneck lies.

er, to overclock a 566 to 850 or a 600 to 900 you change the FSB to 100.
hence no problem rubber band...

once i sell this one im going to install a new cooling system (squarky designed it) and overclock the 800 to a 1.2 gig

but that's still 100MHz compared to 133/200/266 :P

I had a 566 at 1003
also two P3 550E at 866 each running in a dual motherboard
celeron 400 running at 600
celeron 466 running at 700
umm my two 800EB both running at 895 (gay motherboard does not have the OC functions)
and my linux machine has a AMD K62 400 OC 600
My movie machine has a P3 550E OC to 866
My dad's machine has a AMD K62 500 OC to 700
My sister's machine has a celeron 566 OC 977
oh and once when I was working at sunlit A customer paid me to OC their machine he had a duron 600 and that went to 1.2 best I ever did but went through 5 chips to find one that went that high.... =)

if we are talking about over clocking, anyone know how to O/C a P3 800EB with a ASUS CUV4X motherboard to a 1.2 gig???

ed's it will be very hard to get your 800 to 1.2 gig if it's 133 mhz already if u had an 800 that was 100mhz it'll be easyier. to get an 800 to 1.2 gig you would need a system able to run a bus of 200mhz which is pretty f***in high.

so your saying its not possible with a CUV4X???

i had my 650 duron at 1.1 ran table

FFS!! I canty get my P3 500 over 560 with out it locking on POST Im on a P3v4x and i cant find a decent fan and HS for the slot1. So i dont know if there isnt enuf cooling for it to go any higher. But i recon it would atleast get past POST before locking from over heat.

Im just sick of the 112mhz FSB.

Any ideas?

ed's your mboard probally wont be able to do 200mhz fsb also your agp card will f*** up if u try, you would need ram able to do 200mhz and a pci video card.
