Australia's largest ever online league is coming to its first season close. With over 300 teams that have been playing it out for the last 10 weeks to be hailed as the best Counter-Strike Clan in Australia, what is sure, is that anyone in the top four have had to play hard and fast to retain or get to the top of the ladder.

With the shear size of the ladder, over 300 teams we anticipate it being another season before it really sorts itself out in terms of clan skills, however quickly being able to see win-loss ratio's on clans its being used as a guide stick for judging a clans abilities in the field.

Built and owned by AusGamers, the ladder system is one of the most advanced used in the world today, almost completely automated, with intergated spectating and demo recording, and supporting several different games and gametypes, we are hoping to add Wolf and Tribes2 to the spectator field also with the announcements of Wolf-TV and T2-TV due to be released shortly.

Check out more info on the close of season 1 for CS on friday here. Word is also out that the finals between the top four teams will have a bank of HLTV servers to ensure that everyone that wants to watch the games have a spot!

Id like to say thanks for making the ladder in the first place. Its brought the CS community a bit closer and generally this is a good thing. The automation of the ladder has made warring easier and more clans are competing because of this. GG Ausgamers :)

There is too many cheats online to have a 100% non cheating online CS comp...

You can say "but there is anti-cheat software", yes true, but there are ways around all programs, and what about the ASUS video cards which has wallhacking drivers??
Is there a fix for that? doubt it...
You can watch a person playing online and tell he/she is cheating or can you?? a good cheat with wallhack will not look directly at the other team, they will flick this way or that, also do the odd 360% scan to make sure no one is behind them, but really they are scanning the whole map...

I think online comps and ladders are a good idea, but we need a game where you can not cheat at all...

Thats why a lot of gamers will only comp. LAN and not online...
Even then there has been many cases of gamers cheating at a comp. LAN's...

Sif you would need to cheat...

We also need a computer you can not crash, but neither of them are going to happen due to the open architecture of modern PCs

I doubt any of those top 4 clans cheated, and well done to nK (a qld clan) who at this stage sit on top of the ladder with an 11-0 and record

Actually it's probably safe to say the entire top 4 cheated. But it depends on your definition of a cheat. I don't think their configs would contain the same commands as people who are on hte bottom of the ladder.

It's just the nature of CS, and it's gay netcode.

Play a new game.

some ppl go a bit overboard when accusing ppl of cheating... especially the ones that believe that having a buy script is a cheat, if they didnt want it in the game then it wouldnt be there

Deeper, I know you werent naive enough not to know that when you entered the comp though, and neither were any of the other clans playing.
I play full defaults and so does Rips, apart from our controls that differ. But even though its online I like the fact of having automated wars without me having to go and find other clans to play. The system worked great imo, lets me and my clan get our cs fix without having to go to too much trouble.
That said, I hope an ausgamers neverwinter nights server will go up when the game comes out :)
