Hey guys, just to let you all know, we (The Information Services Department of the Holy Spirit Hospital) will be running a LAN in one of our conference rooms on the 14th of july.

Lunch, drinks and snacks will be provided, and the absolute best in network equipment with a fully 100 mbit network, 4mb net connection and luxurious surroundings.

Entry will be around $15 bucks, but the more people, the less it will be, this amount covers all food etc.

Just in case you were wondering, our manager is an avid gamer, and wanted to hold a LAN for our department (9 staff in total), so we all agreed... since there is extra space he allowed me to put up this post. Please note there are only limited spaces, first in best dressed.

Oh, the hospital is located on Wickham Terrace in the CBD. Ample parking.

1: Staff Parking, not the area for emergency/pathology etc.

No, ya f***tart.. that the speed cap that i was prepared to pay for! they got 2 by 2 meg pipelines over to tel$tra.. i should know.. they payed me to be on the forums all day :P kehehe

so how does that change anything? you were only going to pay for as isdn speed capped connection....aren't they modems, aren;t they slow still stands...

they could have one thousand 2mb links..if you're only paying for an isdn link in speed terms them having all the other lines is going to mean jack s***..

oh, and for those who werent sure, ISDN is a technology, not a speed cap.

One ISDN connection is good for 64 or 128K bandwidth.... YOu can have multiple ISDN connections into your premises, and you can group them into one "pipe" but when it leaves your premises it is still in multiples of 64K.

a 2meg pipe can be xDSL, ATM, Frame Relay, etc.
