Microsoft and Valve are teaming up to make CSX, a Counter-strike game for the X-box.
The announcement was made by Microsoft for an e3 press conference, but no release date has been confirmed by valve software yet. CSX will use Xbox Live!, Microsoft's answer to online gaming, and will most likely not interface with PC CS server.

Will CS never die? I dont think it will, they keep weeding it for all its worth, and when they update the engine there will be a CS2 (or similar). CS is here to stay, I think its time to admit it :-/

Well it's a great move from both companies. I'm surprised that microsoft is getting cs, since valve and gearbox have worked with their rivals, sony to make play station half life. Ah well, this should be good, though I probably won't play it because I don't like the x-box.
But it would certainly be something 'fairer' in the cs world. No bitching about someone having a better system, or cheaty paks, because everyone has the same thing!

I dont particularly like CS, and can think of better things to do with my time than play it... but still, it gets annoying at LANs having people bitch about the quality of their systems, and the 'cheats' used by other players who are *remarkably* much better at the game than them.

It's actually a damn smart business move on Microsoft's part.

it was a smart business move of sega to move to software only. that doesn't make it any less gay.

The reason games are coming out on other platforms is simply because it makes more money for game devlopers. instead of it sitting on just the PC. I think its a brillant idea on microsofts part.

I love the idea of CS on an X-box. It is sucseeding in its exact purpose to drag bad pc-gamers onto a console. OMFG PC-CS players getting into a fight with X-BOX-CS players with the ANTI-CS players watching them destroy eachother, ha ha ha

I don't think they'll be able to play together on the same server.

I think the XBOX cs will probably just be Condition Zero ported over.

i want xbox cs players to be able to play on the same servers as pc players so we can kick their xbox asses
