According to Variety, Tim Curry and Tori Spelling have joined the cast of Scary Movie 2.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Spyglass Entertainment have added another films to their list of projects in development in their IPO portfolio. The movie's name is The Sixth Sense 2.

The Crane-Iron Pentalogy site reports that a prequel to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is in the making. Sia Mei Hua will pen the script for the upcoming prequel to this year's mega-hit Asian epic, though her original idea for the opening (the Green Destiny sword being unearthed followed by a battle for control of it by several masters) has been nixed by Ang Lee who called it too cliche. The plot of the prequel is based on the second book in the five-book series "Precious Sword, Gold Hairpin" and "will tell the story of Li Mu Bai (played by Chow Yun-Fat in CTHD), Yu Shu Lien (played by Michelle Yeoh in CTHD), Yu Shu Lien's fiancé Meng Si Zhao, and prostitute Xie Cui Xian. Li Mu Bai is in love with Yu Shu Lien, fiancée of his sworn brother Meng Si Zhao, and Xie Cui Xian, who looks like Yu Shu Lien".

Empire Online caught up with Russell Crowe yesterday (21 February) and discovered that the Oscar-nominated Gladiator star will be swapping action for academia in Ron Howard?s next movie, A Beautiful Mind. ?I play a schizophrenic mathematician,? he told us. ?So that?ll be interesting.? The film is based on the life of mathematician John Forbes Nash Jr whose formulae in the 1950s solved complex mathematical problems that revolutionised the study of economics, politics, sociology and evolutionary biology. Nash was diagnosed with schizophrenia early in his life, but he won the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1994.

Movie hardman Vinnie Jones, seen in movies as "Gone in 60 Seconds", "Lock, Stock, and two Smoking Barrels", and "Snatch" clashed with John Travolta on the set of their latest film - by flying a hugh British flag from his trailer. The Snatch star has been shooting Swordfish with Travolta in Hollywood - and annoyed Travolta with his patriotic fervor when he refused to remove the Union Jack. Vinnie says, "When I'm working, I always fly the British flag from my trailer. During Swordfish it really offended John Travolta, which I found hilarious. I said to him, 'Go to the gym and come back with some mates next time.'"
