We are pleased to release the last in our services to be released today, AusGamers Mail. AusGamers Mail will provide full webmail services hosted right here at AusGamers for all members, which is currently 39,470 users.

Linked to your existing AusGamers username and password, you can log into AusGamers Mail and send and receive e-mails much in the same way as hotmail and other such services. New users will be able to use the service as soon as they have created an AusGamers account, however existing users will need to edit their usernames and passwords in order to set up their mail account, all perfectly painless.

Your email address will be in the format @ausgamersmail.com (note, not your nickname) for example my username is term, thus my ausgamers mail address will be term@ausgamersmail.com.

AusGamers Mail is built on the popular Squirrel Mail program, however using our own users database to maintain unified logins across the AusGamers network.

For more information on how to enable your AusGamers username with Webmail, check out the left hand nav on AusGamers or click here. Using AusGamers Mail you can create additional folders, apply filters for your email, it has event notification, and even a calander!

for obvious reasons it isnt going to like the space in your name, hence we recommend existing users edit their username to something that will work

I have tried mine about 10 times and it won't work, my username has no spaces or anything either...

you still need to edit it even if it doesnt have spaces to trigger the script that creates the account

you need to wait 60 seconds for the script to go, if it still isnt working post here and we can have a look

Paste the url you used to do it please. Might be some old scripts laying around that don't have the new stuff plugged in.

Make sure you wait 60 seconds between changing your username, and trying to log into the webmail interface - we run the job that takes care of synchronisation every minute.

as a suggestion:
you still need to edit it even if it doesnt have spaces to trigger the script that creates the account

how about put a trigger on a button in user management to "activate e-mail"?

Squarky, I didn't even see an attempt by you - are you sure you're pressing the right form button? There's two forms in that page, the small one at the top with it's own submit button just or username/password, and another second form with a second form button for the other details.

The only other explanation is that you're not using the URL you said you are, which is unlikely :)

If you successfully changed your username, you should not be able to post on this forum until you log in again.
Make sure you press the right submit button on the profile page, there are two buttons there, one for the user/pass and one for the rest of the options.

There's no need to do all that. Just log into the account editing page, type your password and submit the (correct) form - if you have dodgy characters in your username it'll tell you, otherwise it'll create your webmail account sometime in the next 60 seconds using the username and password you entered.

we wondered how long it would take for someone to ask that, humm a few hours, longer than I expected. No we aint going to allow ausgamers.com for general users

if we allowed username@ausgamers.com i wouldn't feel special for having aragawn@ausgamers.com anymore. so you can't have it.

i think the real reason is so people don't use their username@ausgamers.com to mail companies/individuals portraying themselves as ausgamers staff.
