Are you leeching bastards the reason why online games are completely unplayable for me now? =(

"Its not a problem on our end!"
"So you're saying the rest of the world is the problem?"
"Its not a problem on our end!"
"Any idea what I could do?"
"Its not a problem on our end!"
"Uh..k...bye"
"Its not a prob.."

Yeah I got the same thing with my BPA AUP. I don't mind the AUP but at least thye could updated every midnight of the day or even 2 days late NOT 4 days later.

I think you're all missing the point that Saturday's light magically changed from green to red. Dirty Telstra.

ok, ive made the point a bit more obvious now, im in favour of netstats, but im also in favour of correct netstats, not ones that have a tendancy to change, please look at the jpegs again

SquarkyD, when you pay for a service and expect to get what they offer, but instead you don't get anywhere near what is on offer, I think you are allowed to voice your opinion.

true, but it's not like we're forking out s***loads, u already get downloads upto like 8 times faster than dialup, 300% faster ping, 24/7 connection.

it turned out cheaper for me to have BPA than to have dial up! gotta think phone calls, 2nd phone line hire etc etc.

ur getting alot more quality for not much more money, be thankful for what u get. they could have chosen not to give it to u at all.

yes, and optus would be enjoying a big market share with no competition, and its also a government regulation that we be able to access broadband, if u can really call it that, and yes its cheaper for me to have cable then dialup, but i refer to my original point, look at the jpegs(the 27th in particular), thats what was my original bitch.

I had the same thing happen to me, one day its yellow, that same day shows up later on as red
I take a screenie everyday now, so when they give me a warning, i can fire straight back

What s***s me is i'm supposed to know where to stop, using red, yellow and green symbols.
They're unreliable, always late, and give no indication of your usage, or what limit u should impose upon yourself.
I've been with telstra cable from the very begining it came to bris, just biding my time till i tell telstra where to go

Sadly Optus are anal about connecting places with underground power, long driveways, apartment blocks etc etc etc. I have the Optus line out the front but I still can't get it (Im in an apartment block), but Telstra can hook me up. Sif :)

the usage monitor sux ass
big time
i use stat n perf
tells me exactly how much data i do every day
and optus@somehomes is the best statement i ever saw
optus say sorry there are no plans to place cable in your area mainly because my local govt wants some rediculous amount to put the cable in and they won't pay it.
so i'm up the duff with telstra telstra or telstra.
i could switch to dsl or docsis but dsl costs more and does similar things from what i've heard, and i'm still on contract with the other cable so i gotta pay for the contract cancel to get docsis.

Best thing i had to put up with was a red light for this. downloaded 550 megs one day, yellow light, downloaded 380 megs the next, RED LIGHT!.

now heres the best bit, at the bottom of the page with the traffic lights of death is this little pice of text "If you receive a red light on the first day, you should use your green light behaviour in the previous week as a guide." so i rang up telstra (ha) but allas, all the peple there dont know/dont care about AUP, instead i have to email their department, as they seam to hide behind their website those little AUP minons.

at the moment im sitting on my Final warning, one mroe, and im out of there for a month >_<

http://powerup.com.au/~scuzzy/rapemetelstraimcommminghome.jpg...what a waste!

actualy,. im going to try this, get my average REALY low, and then leech like a crazyed whore for one day.

just get a linux box and log input/output for eth# (whatever number it is..), then u can actualy have stats to complain at telstra with.

rather than lights :)
sif that's not why they did it, so people don't know what the average is so they can't go "holy mother f***ing s***, that's LOW, I PAY FOR THIS".

where's the damned industry regulation when you need it, telstra are cheap scumbags.

heh, got this email yesterday or something

Dear Telstra BigPond member,
For this monitoring period only, Telstra BigPond Broadband has
increased the maximum number of red lights allowed for each member from
2 to 4 - there have been no other changes to the operation of the
Freedom Plan Monitor. We understand that some members are apprenhensive
about this tool in its trial phase. We believe this temporary change
will serve to :
* allow us to fine tune the Freedom Plan Monitor and
* give members more time to become familiar with the Freedom Plan
Monitor.

Thank you to those who have provided us with feedback. This has been
very helpful and we will incorporate your suggestions into our future
development. As we advised previously, we will continue to collect the
feedback on the trial Freedom Plan Monitor for another two weeks.

Regards,
Telstra BigPond Broadband Team

Either way, I wouldnt be afraid of the AUP for a while. Ive have 2 or more red lights since I knew there was an AUP monitor (start of December), so I'm either incredibly lucky, or the AUP is full of s***.
