this has probably been asked to death but I missed the initial release and figured what the heck...

is anybody still experiencing problems with mouse sens in 1.27g? I know the g patch was supposed to restore mouse sens to how it was in 1.17 but it did absolutely nothing for me (no change compared to 1.27h). as I run windows with high mouseaccel it makes it pretty impossible to play.

currently using win2k, dx8, ltech mman+, intellipoint 3.1a drivers

idiot me

i meant 1.27h.

i applied the 1.27h patch but it remained EXACTLY the same as 1.27g - no change to mouse sens/accel at all.

did you try changing the mouseaccel ?

in windows or q3?

cl_mouseAccel 0 in q3 still has me doing 720's with a flick of the mouse (due to windows mouseaccel setting of high). it feels approximatelly equivalent to a setting of 5 (insane mouseaccel) in 1.17

turning off windows mouseaccel impacts q3, but i still can't tweak my mousesettings to the way i had it in 1.17 :/ it's also annoying to keep having to enable/disable windows mouseaccel

what i was ideally looking for was a way to restore the mouse to the way it was in 1.17 (ie - what the h patch was *supposed* to do)

oh, in that case

put in mouse -1 on
or in_mouse -1 or something like that

it makes it so it doesnt use windows mouse settings and shiz

tried in_mouse -1 a while ago but it did nothing :/ also mucked about with in_mouse 2/3 but they didn't change anything either. the only time it seems to have an effect is on 0 but that isn't very useful at all.

talked to some other people who said it fixed it completely so i'm pretty pissed

done a fresh install of q3 from my LEGIT (currently i'm thinking whadda f***en waste of $$) cd, installed 1.17, then 1.27g, then 1.27h. also tried without 1.17. multiple times.

/version gives me 1.27h and i'm fairly confident it's as "installed" as it's gonna get

what setup are you using acid? win9x? i'm so desperate i'm probably gonna try a dualboot soon...

PeaceKeeper: i tried it hey but i couldn't find the rl???

i have/had win98se + win2k, it was fine in both, i think you're doing something wrong, maybe try using the logitech drivers and not microsoft ones, failing that format :P

tried the logitech sw (mouseware 9.24 anyway... are there standalone drivers available?) and they totally f***ED up my mouseinput. couldn't press 2 buttons at once (making rj impossible). uninstall program DID NOT fix the problem, had to play hide&seek in the registry for a couple of days before it was all purged. subsequently I ain't touching mouseware again with a 10 foot pole :p

and the problem was still there with mouseware :(

I just did a quick check and it turns out that in 1.17 directinput initialisation works, but in 1.27 (both) it fails. g doesn't try, and h fails. i know what i'm doing with in_mouse.

guess i might go hunt for the ol' win2k cd then :/

that was a logitech 9.24 bug, you cant press two buttons on the mouse at the same time otherwise it doesnt register it

use the 9.00 ones and its fine

i tried the 9.00 drivers without luck

also tried formatting. first thing after that was install q3, patch, patch, patch and play. no go.

guess i'll give up on q3 and go look for that rl in counterstrike.

\in_mouse -1
\cl_mouseaccel 0
\in_restart

tried that. :(

in_mouse -1 skips dinput and uses win32 mouse calls (NOT what i want - i WANT the dinput calls, and they worked in 1.17 for me)

i can't get my sensitivity to feel the same either.. i used to use mouseaccel 1 for 1.17, with the new patch it fells s***..

using the logitech drivers, it feels pretty similar to mouseaccel 1 (old patch) but then the scroll doesn't seem to work for games..
