The site encourages people to watch for characteristics such as handwritten labels on CDs and disks
roofle !!

I bet 1 VB next QGL that you have to name the person you got the illegal software from before you are given a good copy. Reason being that they will sue the person and end up with more money than if they had sold the software legally in the first place.

lol I can't believe I didn't see that :/

But my point still stands about why they need that info.

I think its pretty sad that some ppl buy pirated software believing that it is the genuine article.

I admit that there are some pretty convincing fakes out there, but on the whole they are pretty sad.

thats the most rediculous thing i have heard in ages. Microsoft aren't going to stop (or even hinder) piracy with this scheme.

If john average buys a new computer has the option to buy the legit copy of say, winXP for $300 or a pirate one for $10. If he knows that he can buy the $10 one and then take it to microsoft and get it excahnged for a legit copy (saving $290 in the process). He'd have to be fkn stupid to go for the ligit copy outright.

but he has to say where he purchased the $10 copy from... hence stopping them from selling any more 10 copies.
