There is a new demo out from the people that brought us Lara Croft, Eidos Interactive have released a new playable demo of a game called Fate of the Dragon, which is a new strategy game akin to AOE2 and Caesar III etc, with full trade and construction options, multiple paths to victory, IE through war or strategic development. It also contains multiple kingdoms with unique techs, buildings and Characters:

2nd Century China. In the confusion following the collapse of the Eastern Han Dynasty, rival warlords take control of their respective territories and set up their own kingdoms, splitting China into three parts. As one of these three warlords, build your own regime, develop new technologies, and create a mighty army in an attempt to control the Three Kingdoms and reunify China.

At only 57mb this sounds like a demo worth checking out.
