Aussie man convicted for Simpsons smut

The judge said the sentence was so harsh because it was Milner's second offence.

Kurt James Milner, 28, pleaded guilty to charges of possessing child exploitation material and using a carriage service to access child exploitation material. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for five years and must pay a $1,000 good behaviour bond. He was also put on the sex offenders register.

The images included characters from The Simpsons, The Powerpuff Girls and The Incredibles. Police searched Milner's house after a tip-off, according to the Queensland Times.

He actually got prison time (suspended). The other bloke only got 6k fine I thought.

I also think its funny that when the police first asked to see his computer he said no, then called them up a couple of hours later and said they could see it.. but in the meantime he had broken it, just not well enough as the police were able to recover the pictures. Seems like he probably deleted the really bad s***, forgot about the cartoons, broke his pc to be sure, but just did a poor job of it.

I thought laws were meant to protect victums, If it's just cartoons I cant see any victums. If they acted on anything the cartoons dipicted or had pictures of real kids I would be outraged.

I would think it's the exact opposite in that having cartoon CP lets these guys get off without hurting anyone. Taking it away forces them outside to do real damage. The article didn't say he had any hardcore child raping videos or even real images. Just drawings. Guy's life is over now though since he has 2 convictions in the child sex abuse catagory.
