Hey all, at work tryin to fond the thread about 6-12 months ago about the age old religion bs science debate. I seem to remember it was started after hearing some crazy dude on a train. The op linked to a YouTube video that was very direct and logical run through of how no matte what you can't prove there's a god etc etc.

Cheers all

Just download the entire QGL forum. That should answer any questions you might have on the topic.

Nah, it was Immanuel Kant that proved that I thought.

And by 'thought' I actually mean I'm correct.

IMO Descartes' method wasn't sufficiently rebutted by his own proof for the existence of God, so I would say his works are sufficient.

It's really difficult to use logic and reasoning to convince a religious person that they're wrong. Also doesn't work on cops and qgl admins, I've found.

Unless he all up in your face like "God rullz mother f***er!" then I wouldn't touch the issue. Everyone's entitled to their own beliefs and practices. It's a basic right in our society like the right to live.

Even if you talk him out of his beliefs, what will you have accomplished? And could your time be better put to use elsewhere?

is it logical to attempt to use logic to convince a religious person that they're wrong, in the first place? maybe your issue is that you don't actually employ logic but just think that you do, thermite
