Anyone use this wacky stuff? I am trying to get my noggin around it - what is 'Bounce Rate' ?
Anyone got any mad hacks or custom filters. How do you get the most out of it? |

I like looking at the graphs and fancy numbers and pretending my site gets lots of hits when in reality it's all just me.

I use it a lot (I'm part of running a lead generation business). Bounce rate refers to how many people land on your page/form/whatever and then leave your site.
Spend some time implementing it properly and leave it for a few days and the data you'll get will start to make more sense. |

I use analytics all the time, it is really useful and very powerful. It can be quite overwhelming because there is so much data, but as TicMan said, give it a couple of days and let some data build up. Once you have some real data just explore it and have a play around. Personally, I don't use near half of the data they provide. What kind of data were you hoping to attain? |

yeah, been using it for about 4years. bounce rate is when someone comes on your site, then leaves quick. bounces are bad.

Bounces are pretty subjective, IMO. |

Yeah, bounces are fine if the user comes from say, Google search right to the page they want.
THey are not as good if you have a portal page with lots of links and they leave. |
