A former Ballarat teacher who had sex with two high school students sent more than 1300 text messages to the boys, inlcuding naked photos of herself, a court heard today.

Michelle Lynn Dennis, 33, pleaded guilty in the County Count at Ballarat in October to two counts of sexual penetration of a child under supervision and one count of sexual penetration of a child under 16.

She will be sentenced on Friday.

I'm really interested to see what she gets for this. It's interesting but my personal opinion is that because it's a woman taking advantage of boys it's a lesser offence. I am aware that legally it's not - it's just my gut feeling. I assume it's somehow linked into my understanding of 'balance of power' in a hetero relationship or something.

What alarms me most about this article is how do they know she sent 'more than 1300 texts'? And that they included naked pics of herself (ok, that one I can understand because they'd be kept by the boys on their phone).

The other issue is: how was she caught?

At the end of the day though, I can't understand what a 33yo woman could possibly see in a 17yo, much less a 14yo.

Probably who it went to and at what time. I assume exactly the same information as they do for your call details, except in this case they normally just summarise it on your bill because you probably don't make 1300 calls in a month. As it is in a regular month i still would go through 5-6 pages )luckily mine are all PDF).

In sentencing, Judge Cohen said she expected Dennis would not pose a significant risk of reoffending, however she will be registered for life on the sex offenders' register.
