anyone know whats with the flyovers over brisbane/st lucia area?

i know theres some kind of uq campus officer base thing, maybe they have a helipad...

I'm in Bulimba next to the army barracks, beside the river. Just had four of them buzz up and down our street about 5-6 times in that past 45mins.
Should have got a photo. They were flying only a little higher then the tallest trees.
Pretty cool, made the house shake.

The helicopters are the 16th Aviation Brigade out of Holsworthy, and are at Amberley until the 27th whilst they conduct training in urban operations. They're doing operations on the Port of Brisbane as well, which explains why they're using the Bulimba Barracks.

Yeah they started flying over again around 7:30 and were at it for about 30mins, doing maybe 4-5 fly overs above the house again. Only one of them had any lights turned on, and only a flashing tail light.
EDIT: it's 8:50 and they're back again
