Planes at Bris AP have been delayed since 06:30 this morning. Some small craft have cancelled their Sydney runs so far.

Not a single aircraft was able to leave Brisbane for Sydney before 9.30am as the dust storms wreaked havoc on air travel in capital cities across the country.

Apparently sydney airport is open again.

Looks mad. Nothing like making a boring day at work more interesting than a sudden dust storm.

Yeah the haze is messing with light a little bit, headlights are looking different and pearlecent paints or metalic paints on cars are looking shiney.

I would assume the dust is leeching all the red tones out, causing car windscreens and whatnot to get a blue tinge to them.

The dust particles are fine enough to scatter more blue than red light, though the dust particles are a reddish colour anyway.

I think you'll find there is plenty of dust on vehicles, go up and wipe a finger over it.

I thought the same thing, when I got to my bike heading home from work, put helmet on the seat, took it off and thought the padding in the helmet was wet from the mark it left on the seat, then realised it was covered in dust.
It's just really really fine, a lot finer than dust from sanding etc.
