LMAO! The comment on it is awesome too, made me lol I'm surprised Gene Ray's time cube didn't get in there: http://www.timecube.com/ (although a quick search of the page shows someone did comment on it) |

Their s*** website is both the best and worst marketing I've ever seen. The amount of talk it generates for being so s*** is astounding and would surely outweigh the number of people who are turned away by how lousy it is.

yeah good point stez
i wonder whether it's actually done as a bit of a joke cos even if you were out to design a really basic website you wouldn't end up with that |

I love it. So easy to navigate and if you want to get a bit of information on the product you just google it. Plus morningside MSY is about a 2min drive at the most.

Check this simple MSY site replacement, everything is already done and it was offered for free
They're not interested :O I suppose I have grown fond of their site now, if it changed they just wouldn't be the same :( Not that it matters, I go there because of the prices. EDIT: Forgot the link http://shaunr.net/portfolio/msy last edited by Fn at 19:32:47 27/Aug/09 |

Can you just walk in off the street & ask for stuff at MSY or is it like umart where you have to order stuff first? They have some pretty cheap SD cards and are across the road from work (sort of) but I've never really bothered to look because their site is s*** and I cbf navigating it to find out if their stores are even real or just a mailbox in the middle of an empty lot.

Imo the basic site keeps the whacko rando retail customers away. You know the "my husband has one of your computey things and complains thats it always slow, can you speed it up?" |

Can you just walk in off the street & ask for stuff at MSYHaha, no you use the non-existent online order system they have set up on their ultra modern site. Probably a good idea to call first for a stock check if you are after a specific item. |

^^ like i said, their site is so s*** I haven't bothered even looking at it to find out if their stores are real or there's some hidden part of their site you order from. Take one look at main page, ask myself are they serious, close page. Any store with a site like that doesn't deserve my money anyway, I'll just line the pockets of trust worthy companies instead.

You know the "my husband has one of your computey things and complains thats it always slow, can you speed it up?"Funny, every time I go to MSY there seems to be one of these idiots there, holding up a queue of people who know what they want and just want to pay for it and leave. |

Don't get why so many people hate MSY due to the bad website. Sure.. the site itself is pretty bad, but when it comes to actually looking at what they have for sale, their PDF price lists kicks serious ass compared to traditional listings like Umart/Computer Alliance etc. Much easy to quickly look and see which prices have been updated (they highlight them) and look at multiple things.
Having the dodgy site helps deter people who don't know what they are doing with computers (though only to an extent as illustrated above). Last time I went to Morningside there was some mother there who must have been picking something up for her son. As she was leaving she was bitching that "they never say thank-you here". Someone in the queue told her to go to Harvey Norman and pay twice as much if she wanted service. In summary: MSY is great for computer users with a clue, pdf list is good, website is bad (who cares) |

their PDF price lists kicks serious ass compared to traditional listings like Umart/Computer Alliance etc. Much easy to quickly look and see which prices have been updated (they highlight them) and look at multiple things.Except the categories are in a rather ambiguous order, and you have to download the entire PDF just to check the price on one item. It's faster to have a website where you can click on a category (arranged in an alphabetical list), and then find the item in the list for that category. |

in my most worthless and humblest opinion. i'd really like to question the IQ of people that will travel to the other side of town and endure a 4 hour wait... for what... a few bucks.... a wiseman once said... a tightass will usually pay more in the end. common sence would dictate... that cheaper prices usually mean retarded after sale service. therefore thinking cap on and calculators out... |
