You heard the s*** here first, I spotted a NEW umart at the very end of Douglas street, it's huge. I asked an asian in a business suit passing by what the deal was, and he told me they're moving umart in 2 weeks.

Yeah near a field/park, so it's not technically on Douglas St, it's on the corner of Kilroe/Roy

I go there if I can't find what I need at MSY in Underwood. So much cheaper when you're buying a lot of stuff generally.

I just got back from umart, trying to stuff 2 pcs worth of gear into a car when every other car is parked millimeters from your door is ghetto

I remember back when they were across the street from where they are now, thats how super cool I am

So they're moving to the business park down the road where their service centre is? Good stuff! The tennants in the other units will be pissed when everyone starts parking in their spots.

I wont use Umart anymore now that I've found MSY. Umart is fine until you need to return something.

People are complete carnts with parking there. While I was waiting for a parked dude to reverse out in front of me, the car behind me drove aggressively around and in front of me me to take my spot. So aggressive that the dude already in the park was blocked from reversing out, lol. Anyway upon leaving I had a go at him in the store and then slammed my car into his and drove off.

Pretty easy in my car, I just put everything in the rear hatch :)

I do hope the new store has better parking though, I used to go to milton umart all the time for late nigh shopping but the better parking and closer proximity has seen me switch to computer alliance. I would try MSY but I just flat out refuse to go to any store whose website is as s*** as theirs is no matter how cheap they are.

unless they are planning on setting up a car park onsite the parking situation will be pretty much the same as their current location. they aren't in the business park, in the old rio building across the road. theres plenty of $/hour parking on the street next to it but it's all gone by 9-5ers working in milton by about 8:15am.

working in milton without a company car park ftl :(

MSY's website is terrible, but their price list is very good.

Not like it matters that their website is s***.

I just use whoever is cheapest since they are both about the same distance away.

I think I prefer MSY now though. Went to buy a new monitor at UMart. Asked if I could test it for dead pixels before I take it home. Guys like "yeah, $20 for dead pixel testing".
"What, I can't just plug it in and test it to save coming back if it's got some?"
"Nah, $20"
So I just took it home since it would have taken ages to go to MSY from 8MP. Luckily it was fine... but yeah, MSY > Umart.

Umart dodged me around on a memory card a fews years back, never been back.

I think they wanted $30 from me to test their own product (the memory card) which they recommended to me for my digital camera.

Then switched to MSY but mainly go to CA now as it's a bit more convienient. I hardly ever buy pc stuff these days so the extra cost of CA doesn't really worry me.

so what's the msy store like?

if it's anything like the website then everyone gets a punch in the face on entry

MSY is like Umart but instead of typing a number into a numpad and waiting 15mins to get what you ordered you just rock up and get it straight away.

msy never seem to have the s*** in there online catalogue when i want to buy it......
but i got a 1tb iomega external hdd today for $142, with a 3 year in store warranty.

i guess thats good........
they just down road from me in morningside, so i take into account the hassle of driving anywhere else......
so..........

msy > umart

msy stores are always pretty busy, they just seem to get through their orders quicker than umart;

Its actually quite a weird phenomena. Umart seem to have elevety billion people working at the milton store, but its really slow.

MSY have I'd say a max of four people working at Slacks Creen (which is a bigger store than morningside if you haven't been there) and they still get through the queue quicker.

Shame there are s***c***s who go there and ask the poor sales dudes the DUMBEST questions out.

yer, morningside msy is the same;

i havent bought a built system from umart in years, but at msy, they boot everything up with their windows install, show you everything working, and then format the box before they give it back to you

and still you get served pretty quickly there;

Yeah I don't understand how Umart can be so slow with their ordering system. MSY you can just e-mail/rock up and you get it faster.

Brendale MSY is pretty zippy.

I always shoot a quick email asking if certain products are in stock before I depart, usually get a reply within the hour.
