Simple
If it has a laptop drive then is uses 5V DC If it takes regular drives then it uses 5V DC & 12V DC |

well the AC input part will be 240v ;p no idea what the DC output is though... anyone at your place you can ring n get them to read the output levels off the plugpack? coz it's not just the DC output voltage that you'll need to match but also the output current. my external usb caddy for hdd's power supply has 2 DC outputs 12vdc @ 2A & 5vdc @ 2A.

Doesn't it say on the drive what input it requires?
I'm guessing you've already looked.... but you'd think it should say it on there? |

i rekn your choices are prolly to go home n get the ppack or find someone with a similar drive n borrow thier ppack. i dunno about your seagate freeagent but my usb hdd that requires a ppack has a multipin connector that isn't common to normal single rail ppacks.
pro tip : get a 2.5" usb hdd that powers from the usb connection ;D |

Found a page that confirms 12V but gives no idea on AC vs DC or polarity if it is DC.
12V 2A (unknown polarity, unknown AC/DC) |
