Pretty interesting episode of some show on SBS I came upon looking for something to watch on their online streaming site. Hamster at some huge natural gas rig.

edit: it seems that because the new episode of the show has aired, the troll episode is no longer available.
The Troll A platform has an overall height of 472 metres and weighs 656,000 tons and has the distinction of being the tallest structure ever moved by mankind. The platform stands on the sea floor 303 metres (994 feet) below the surface of the sea and each of the continuous-slip-formed[1] concrete cylindrical legs has an elevator that takes over nine minutes to travel[1] from the platform above the waves to the sea floor.

edit2: The new episode is here for anyone interested.

I thought this was going to be a thread about posting provocative statements in an internet forum designed to get reactions from fellow users.

I cringed when he waled beneath that reinforced slab lolz. Nice doco though, I enjoy it when they explain massive complex structures like this in their small components.

Last sat night on SBS they showed how they do the Cement pours for those massive Support Pylons. Awesome stuff. They do it in one continuous poor sometimes lasting a week.
