Hey guys, having issues sending e-mail through my iPhone. I'm with iinet and have no probs with sending mail. Incoming pop mail: mail.iinet.net.au
outgoing smtp: mail.iinet.net.au it says cannot send mail, sender address is invalid. |

It wont allow you to relay through that server without authentication, because you are coming from a non-iinet network.
Either change the outgoing smtp to the network you are with for your phone, or turn on authentication for outgoing smtp, that would probably be the better option, then it would work when you are on wifi which goes through a different isp. |

When I was with iinet the smtp address was mail.m.iinet.net.au, also double check you're connected to your local wireless because you'll get relay error if you're sending via 3g. If you're sending via 3g, you need to use your mobile carriers smtp server.

is your iphone using it's own separate internet connection or piggy-backing through your iinet via wireless? if the former, you can probably understand iinet not wanting people outside their network being able to relay mail through them
