I don't know if everyone got increases. But I went from 15GB Peak/30GB Offpeak to 22GB Peak / 30GB Offpeak. Might only be for bundles though on iiNet DSLAMs though. |

No new plans. But some of the existing advertised LSS based plans will receive increased quota. last edited by TiT at 14:39:52 18/Jun/09 Terminology; LSS = ADSL2 Off-Net = ADSL1 NDSL = Naked DSL last edited by TiT at 14:40:48 18/Jun/09 |

The quota increase is for LSS plans, not naked plans.

Looking at the iinet site and at naked adsl. It says you don't need a landline to get naked adsl but then it asks for your phone number. Does this seem contradicting to anyone else and isn't there another method of checking if you can get naked adsl without having to input your phone number?

you need to have an active phone line in the house
once you have that, you can turn it into a naked line .. how else do they figure out what exchange you're on? |

According to the iiNet reps you don't need to have an active phone line to apply for Naked DSL. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1220912 |

greazy - it makes the application process quicker but you don't need one. I signed up without having a phone number and all they do is take longer to verify you can get it, nearest exchange, etc.

it needs to be connected at the pit before you can order dsl on it im pretty sure.
otherwise they cant guarantee your line is capable of delivering dsl pretty unusual for it to be connected and not active |

We didn't have an active line before getting naked DSL, but you do need to have a line that was active at some point.

ok thanks guys. I can understand for application process reasons, but for simply checking you should be able to check what your nearest exchange offers. At least I discovered http://www.adsl2exchanges.com.au but I dont know how reliable it is.

Greazy. Go to whitepages.au and do a search for the surname Smith in your area. There will most likely be a Smith in a street very close to you (or if you are lucky in your street, its happened for me). Then use their phone number in the search, that will give you a pretty good idea.

Which will probably make me swap to a new provider of naked DSL. Those uploads can chew up a fair bit of your Quota, even if you aren't torrenting. All those upload packets in multiplayer games hurt :( I will let them know before I leave why I am, to see if they can do anything about it, like increase my quota by 5gig or something. Their customer service has been great though. |

iinet wont care about losing you on their naked network because of uploads
the vast majority of their customers dont know what an upload is their customer service, is as stated -f***ing awesome- i always pay the extra $10 a month for the business plans when I am with iinet because you get an even quicker direct number etc just go to one of their larger cap plans and be happy that you can get what i would have to say is the best dsl in australia and I've had optus, tpg, iinet, internode (2nd best), pacific, request iinet is miles above the rest |

I thought Internode was by far one of the best ISP's in terms of customer satisfaction. Still trying to decide who to go with. So far thinking TPG, Internode and iinet.

Very welcome surprise I just went to 50/70 from 40/60.
iinet is OK, I would go back to Node though if they had ADSL2+Extreme in my area. |

Thinking of the 25 gig plan for $70, I think voip is included in that in some capacity. Will have to read up more about it.
