I downloaded an update to Fire Fox with the auto updater about two hours ago. It's crashed 4-5 times since. Anyone else having problems with the new update?

I've had frequent crashes after updates before where others haven't and have usually been able to trace it back to an add-on with some broken compatibility since the update.

Yep, frequent crashes here and reports sent to them - probably from about ver 3.0.0 to be honest.

sounds like a good opportunity to jump ship to webkit - safari 4 (recently out of beta) or chrome

I installed safari on my laptop the other day, omfg is it ever sexy. That whole grid view of most visited sites gave me wood.

Except for the 15 addons I use on a regular basis, I would agree ;-)

I had heaps of problems with it trying to update it self.
Saying it was already open (when it wasn't) install process just hanging and crapping out.

Downloaded the install though, Uninstalled old and installed new.

No problems so far.

ie8, isn't it at the bottom of all benchmarks, and not even standards compliant? surely you'd only use that if you were forced to.

I genuinely feel sorry for web devs who's managers think that their website should run perfectly under every browser since IE4.
