As of this coming Sunday (May 31st), Dan and I will be heading to grimy Los Angeles to bring you all the possible E3 show-floor coverage we can (we are just two people, mind), but given the strength and reach of our successful TGS outing last year, you can bet we'll be putting in 110%. The hyperbole has already kicked off this week with a slew of pre-show announcements, but we urge you to stay tuned to AusGamers over the coming week for all your E3 needs. Press releases, screenshots, trailers, previews, news and more, all right here on AusGamers plus original content from us in the form of editorial and video. We have a dedicated E3 page, so make sure you bookmark it and stay tuned for all the gaming love we can give you. |

I found Mass Effect to be a somewhat dumbed down RPG. There wasn't enough ways to go about each mission, here's hoping that Mass Effect 2 does a better job in the RPG area.

does e3 have a show floor again? I thought after the dramas they used to have they scaled it back the past few years to just the press conferences offsite from the LA convention center and it was all private showings in Hotel lobbies.

So it's sposed to be the usual orgy again. Oh except Atari aren't attending. They probably forgot, and then had to turn it into a PR exercise |

you dudes have a s*** job hey, that sounds like hellyeh it sounds like fun, but when you're going there for work, it's not really all that. I mean, there's still a lot of cool s*** there. But even once you get over the fact that you're in LA, which is like the a****** of the planet, there's a hell of a lot of stuff to do. The guys have been super busy the last couple of weeks just liaising with publishers making interviews, which is a goddamn pain in the ass in itself. There, you've got to constantly bounce around between appointments, often feigning interest in some spectacularly cruddy looking games while you make your way to the stuff that you're really interested in. Then after 8 hours of wandering around on the floor talking to people who have been basically repeating the same marketing spiel all day every day to every single games journo in the world, there's a lot of work writing up articles, preparing video, uploading screenshots, messing around with the games database, all that sort of stuff. Of course, you get to play some of the latest and greatest games, and get a sneak peak at cool s*** that's coming soon (or in some cases, not coming soon, or never coming). So there's a good side as well. |

hey trog, is it worth all the effort of interviewing developers and all that when there are so damn many gaming sites out there?
Nothing against ausgamers, it's just that games journalism is such competitive market on the net. Though I guess it gives more credibility rather than just quoting someone elses articles like a lot of popular gaming blogs do. I just guess I'm asking how well does Ausgamers go in general. I don't usually check out gaming sites these days, just usually hover on neogaf forums every so often and checkout gametrailers.com sometimes. It's cool that Steve works for you guys though, I used to love N64 Gamer and have found a few of the guys like Narayan Pattison working for IGN and such. |

hey trog, is it worth all the effort of interviewing developers and all that when there are so damn many gaming sites out there? Wait, so because there are hundreds of other sites on the internet that are dedicated to gaming, it's not worth having a go? That's a pretty negative way to look at things IMO. |

/queue bad comparison Results 1 - 10 of about 149,000,000 for Game reviews. (0.75 seconds) Results 1 - 10 of about 244,000,000 for Porn [definition]. (0.10 seconds) Everyday, 266 new porn sites appear on the internet Im pretty sure these guys have a shot at keeping this thing afloat :) Seems to work for other industrys! Now if they just combined the two...think of the web hits! |
