See sold thread here: http://sold.ausforums.com/index.php/1536545/?agn=thread&id=2746341

I am selling my 32gb iPod touch.
It is in awesome condition as i have been carrying it around since day one in a Belkin leather case (which I will include). So the screen has ZERO scratches, but the scratch magnet silver back still has managed to pick up a few nicks.

It has been really well looked after, and I have found it very useful but won't be needing it anymore when i up(down?)grade to 8gb iPhone.

Included is:
iPod touch
USB 2.0 cable
Belkin leather case http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=388479

All for $250 ono.

NB: No headphones inc, cause I got them caught in a door and broke them, and you don't want the manky ones i am using now.

See below for applespeak on the awesomeness of the iPod touch

Get your mobile game on.
With a built-in speaker and groundbreaking technologies such as the Multi-Touch display, accelerometer, and 3D graphics, iPod touch puts an amazing gaming experience in the palm of your hand.

The best way to watch video on the go.
Movies and TV shows have never looked this good on a portable device. You can carry hours of video with you and watch it on a crisp, clear 3.5-inch color widescreen display.

Take the Internet with you anywhere.
Connect to the Internet wherever there's a wireless network. Surf the web and send email from any Wi-Fi hotspot. Get directions, check the weather, follow stocks, watch YouTube, and more.3

edit: its roughly 8 months old...

double edit: its 32gb!!

Why I am happy with my iPod Touch:

1) I can use it to read ebooks with Stanza, the application I use most by far
2) I can use its in-built s***ty mail reader to keep up with my work email and gmail when I'm in a wifi area (and reply to them with short sentences in a pinch)
3) I can use Safari when in wifi areas to read stuff on the Internet

Why I hate it:

1) I have to pay for each software upgrade (~AU$20 IIRC)
2) I can't install whatever I want on it without jailbreaking it because Apple like to tell me what I can do with it

I wonder if this will turn into a flame war thread again, simply because the word Apple is used...

If the back is rounded, and not flat across most of it, its a 2nd gen.

You can copy music via explorer using an Apple-approved, free 3rd party app, but you'll lose the ability to play those songs via the iPod interface. Instead, you use the 3rd party app to play the songs.

To everyone else, this is a pretty good deal, but be aware of the differences between 1st and 2nd gen before buying. Actually, it's a great deal in terms of price.

wtf? That's so homo, especially if the updates fix bugs (if any exist) and aren't just adding new features. Imagine if MS charged for windows updates, how the hell does apple get away with it?

updates add new features and are never just bug fixes afaik. since the ipod touch was released there has only been 1 update that they have charged for.

also i got my 2.0 software from you know where for nothing.

You'll have to pay for 3.0.

I don't know any other mobile device that charge for updates (phones, consoles etc etc). But Apple do love charging for every update they can :D

May be interested so the GF will stop flattening my iPhones battery playing games heh.

There has been 2. I decided to wait for the second one, thinking that it would include the updates for the first (and it did).

Dude are you 100% sure it's a 1st gen? Me and Billy can't figure out how its a 1st gen. 2nd gens also (iirc) have a volume control button on the side of the device.

no volume control button, and the wifi antenna thing on the back is squarish not ovalish. this ipod that has escaped from another dimension can be yours for only $250.

Apple only charge for iPod touch updates (which is lame but doesn't affect me).

iPhone gets em free. There's gotta be some sorta reason but its still pretty lame.

Then again, most devices require you to get an entirely new device for big updates to mobile operating systems.

Most "updates" for any other mobile device (such as Nokias) are invisible bug fixes which you likely never experienced.

that's true; but most phone operating systems don't need to be patched to get standard s*** like mms and a clipboard

i have never owned a phone that has copy and paste. everyone thinks copy and paste is the ducks nuts but i really couldn't give a s***. no mms is kind of lame, but you can email pretty easy instead so no big deal.

Then you've never owned a blackberry or a windows mobile phone.

I would have quoted your post, but I don't have the ability from my iPhone.

It's not just those features either - the iPhone is a very pretty device that lacks a slew of s*** if really should be able to do. Calling it version 3.0 is f***inh cheeky - this is iPhone 1.0 SP2.

Piss off Billy, I've said any number of times that I love my iPhone. Its a really nice device despite the flaws, and once I played with one in the store it was a done deal.

That doesn't mean that I need to be converted to the Second Coming of Apple and the Jobsian Movement or shouldn't be critical when I think they are being jerks.
