Which texas? Texas in queensland or the one in the states? I'm pretty sure there is a few more around. But I presume the one in the states? Looks nice though. How did you organize all of that?

Pity you're in Austin, I'll be in Dallas (well, Arlington) for a couple of weeks this Friday. Why does Texas have to be so damn big!

haha, haven't chosen which form of home protection I want yet. An assault rifle would be good, but they go through too many bullets. I'm leaning towards an auto-shotgun at the moment.
As for dollars, I paid $185,000 for it. One of the main methods for comparing sales is $/sqft, I'm one of the cheapest in the area per sqft. I lucked out and the sellers were desperate to sell it as it had been on the market for a while ( a few failed contracts ) and they're interstate and paying mortgage for it, plus rent for their new house. Better yet, I have < 5% interest, locked for 30 years ... with a hefty deposit and such an awesome rate, I'm paying about $800/month mortgage. |

looks great! i want to move to the states some day, was it tricky getting a visa? Yup! thankfully work paid expensive immigration lawyers to do most of the hard work and I'm on a sweet visa 3 years, easily extendable. Most people I know are on a yearly visa and has to fully re-apply every year. As part of the process you need to go to sydney for a US consular appointment, if you haven't dotted all your t's and crossed all your i's they'll kick you to the curb. Of the people in front of me, more people were turned away than accepted. |

What was more exciting in the short term - the birth of your first born or signing the contract?? The reason I ask is that when I signed my first lease recently my heartrate went nuts. Probably because I don't have a job....

even just hearing about my (as yet unborn) daughter was 10 fold more exciting than any home I could ever dream of owning
it is still awesome signing for and moving into you first home, but its just a 'thing' at the end of the day - your spawn is your spawn |
