This is an actual news article on news.com.au now. I'm not going to link to it because they don't deserve your traffic. http://trog.qgl.org/up/newscomau-no-internet.jpg props to saint for the find |

Can they not even link you to where said experts have predicted? Knowing news.com.au they actually asked saint what he thought, and therefore, posted it on the internets |

Yeah, I saw it... and was about to post a comment like - WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT YOU IDIOTS.
Talk about scare mongering. Who the f*** decides what makes an article over there? They really are terrible. |

AT first I though they might be talking about running out of IP4 addresses and how we need to start migrating, but then most people would have no idea what they are talking about, but then they crap on about bandwidth, yeah because they wont just upgrade the links, like they are already doing.
They obvioulsy have no comprehension of how many different links there are on the internet and saying that the internet is going to run out of space is such a dumb thing to say. Sure there will be pockets of places that dont have enough bandwidth, but they all get upgraded eventually, unless its a third world or remote country. |

End of Mayan calendar Never quite understood that hysteria. When it gets to 11:59:59 on December 31st each year, we just roll over to 00:00:00 on January 1. What makes the Mayan calendar so different? |

The mayan calendar ends on 2012. Either they have predicted the end of mankind, or they ran out of rock to chisel on. Most scholars seem to think it's just the end of an age and that a new age will be starting (according to the Mayans). Most tin foil hat wearers think it's the end of the world or when aliens will come and enslave us :D |

In my POV, a year means jacks***. Years are a human-coined measurement of time. It has no bearing what so f***en ever on natural events. Nuff said.

Years are a human-coined measurement of time. Actually they are an astrologically derived measurement. The time for this planet to go around the sun. It might be an earth centric measurement, but it isn't simply pulled from thin air. |

Well yeah but its still has little bearing on what will happen in the future. Patterns are derived from seasons and whatnot but the universe isn't gonna decided hmm 2012 in human christian years sounds like a nice time to end the Earth as they know it.

You dumbass, why does the Equinox and Solstice happen at the same time every year. Cos many natural events are based on the earth's movements around the sun, once a year. lol |

Exactly.. there's no air at all in space! AHAHAHAH Near earth "space" had some gas particles zipping around doing whatever gas does in extremely cold low pressure places. ps. Even deep space is not completely empty. |

Not to mention there is a f***tonne of dark matter missing, which is really disturbing if you think about it too much.

I read about this on Faceman's blog, www.tinfoilisnotenough.net, and have already started stockpiling internet for when supply gets low. the plan is to sell my stockpiled internet once demand has pushed up the price above a trillion dollars a unit which should be around 2012 as confirmed by news.com.au. |

We can not take the internet for granted any longer. We, as a planet, must stop over-logging... on. We must use the internet only when we need it. It's easy for us to think we can just use up all the internet we want, but if we don't treat the internet with the RESPECT it deserves, it could one day be gone forever. So we must learn to live with the internet, not for it. No more browsing for no apparent reason, no more mindlessly surfing on our laptops while watching television, and finally, we must learn to use the internet for porn only twice a day... MAX.

Start a campaign to encourage people to reuse their existing porn, and not download new porn. It's a sacrifice but one that will make the world a better place.

Wasn't it bleeding obvious that the Internet was going to run out of space at some stage? I mean, just look at it. It's a small box to begin with and there's even less space when you account for the wires needed to operate the flashing light. The Elders of the Internet warned us about needing a few quid to buy a bigger box a long time ago.

I think if we don't do something soon, the internets will fill up, and it will be too heavy to keep on your computer, so we will need bigger computers if you want to send someone an internet.

Just need to change the protocol:
So in time you will just have to buy a new router. IPv4 will become the lower standard and IPv6 will become the newer standard. IPv6 is already in every single PC out there you just need to install protocols. No Biggy. |
