The official Creative Assembly forums have given fresh details on a major patch that will be released this week for Empire: Total War. According to the forum update there are over "70 bug fixes in this upgrade, plus a tonne of balance and feature tweaks".

The upgrade went into beta testing over the weekend, so it's likely it'll have a few more days of being under the microscope before it's released to the general user-base.
