They are good fun, but you really need to keep the pace of the game going quickly otherwise they can take aaages.

I've been to a couple.. they are OK, I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to go to another one though. It's probably good for a change if you're looking for something new to try out. I think we did the "how to host a murder" ones.

You could spice things up by actually killing someone for a change. Always a bitter disappointment for me.

Did one a while ago with a group of friends, we didn't take it very seriously. As others said it was OK but I'm not dying to go to my next one.

If you wanted to spend a bit more money you could always try one hosted by a professional, and make it a bit more serious so actually invest in proper costumes.

I've always wanted to go to one. I think if you really go to the effort to do a proper one, it'd be quite fun

I did one once and I thought it was really dumb that you couldn't actually "solve" the crime... the murderer ended up being so random and the motive was like "wtf where did that come from!?" Don't know if that's representative of other versions...

Some of the versions have terrible conclusions. Some have much better endings, others will make everyone go "wtf"

Only ever been to one. It was ok. Everyone tried to stay in character. Would have been lame if people hadn't.

It very much relied on people following the bits of paper.

Go watch the movie "clue". I love that movie and if a murder mystery night turned out like that I'd go.

imagine doing a murder mystery with faceman, spencer and booyah.

no matter how convincing the murderer was it'd also be the jew they'd accuse.

So how exactly is this not LARPing

I imagine people act more like themselves rather than running about pretending they can shoot lightning from their arse. So you're using an alias calling yourself colonel mossturd or reverend ream big whoop, who doesn't run around telling everyone in real life their name is tasty mcawesome at some point or other? right? right?

I'm guessing LARPing = live action role playing? If so, then I guess every theatre production, every movie is also an LARP since well actors are acting out other roles, does that stop you from enjoying the return of the quadruple breasted beauties from babylon? or the high flying adventures of penis mcdanglott?

Considering that would entail me leaving the house, your assumptions are incorrect but given the chance I would LARP all over your face.

and in your case you'd immediately be attributing the murder to an Islamist bombardist extremist.

I wonder why the word islamist is underlined in red? oh that's right it's not a f***ing word.

Is·lam·ism (ĭs-lä'mĭz'əm, ĭz-, ĭs'lə-, ĭz'-) Pronunciation Key
n.

1. An Islamic revivalist movement, often characterized by moral conservatism, literalism, and the attempt to implement Islamic values in all spheres of life.
2. The religious faith, principles, or cause of Islam.

Is·lam'ist adj. & n.

Well would you look at that?

The term "islamist" is just more jargon being circulated around by the western medi to describe an extremely diverse set of political movements in the Muslim world. Just as "Terrorism" is a propagandist's shorthand for "Political violence we don't like, "Islamist" is the propagandist's term for "Muslims we don't like."
It doesn't even make sense. It's like calling a Christian a Christainist to give christains a negative undertone because they believe certain things or do things a certain way.

Anyway, murder mystery party, that s*** is bangin!

Going by your stupid comment somehow don't think you know what a Zionist is.

Let's leave it at that before you dig yourself any deeper.
