What's everyone's plans? I'm taking the Friday off work and having a 4 day weekend away with the missus, going to sunshine coast, hopefully there is some swell so we can surf a bit, other than that going to watch the cricket and do all the Aussie rituals (beach cricket, lamb on BBQ etc etc etc)

What's everyone's plans? anything out of the ordinary?

No Plans yet, Wouldn't mind going camping somewhere.

4wd park... or somewhere with a nice creek to swim in.

Haven't set anything in stone yet, Mates are having a LAN on the 24th/25th, though I dunno if I'll go.

Australia day marks the one year anniversary for me and the missus, so will do something special.

I'm having an extra long weekend, starting tomorrow.

I suspect my diet will consist of lamb and beer.

Going to the local reservoir/park with friends for Triplej Hottest 100 countdown. Hope to annoy some families with kids by having the radio up too loud in an otherwise serene environment.

No plans, might go catch some Australian Open if the tickets are cheap enough over the weekend. May end up down at St Kilda or Brighton for a late evening swim if the temperature doesn't plummet to sub-zero.

I'm hosting a BBQ on the sunday. Looking to have around 15-20 people over for steaktastic steaks and satay chicken on the BBQ.

Apart from that, not much else.

Originally I was going up to Mt Stromlo (Canberra) to race the Australian National Championships and try to take an Open Men STXC Nationals win, but because of the state I was in in December I've decided not to go up, and instead I'll try to conserve a 3rd place in the National Series the weekend after at Mt Buller.
Myself and another guy are sitting equal third in the series, 16 points behind the leader, 6pts behind second (80pts for a win), and I know the leader isn't going to Hobart for the 5th/final round.

So I'll be resting up bigtime on Australia Day weekend ;)

Short Track Cross Country. More correctly known as XCC ;)
ie, an event where you just go absolutely flat out for 20 minutes.

The above is a heart rate/speed/altitude graph from Sunday - yes, that's 45 minutes at 180bpm average (MHR=189). I have a pretty high Lactate Threshold ;p

No. I sit behind a desk, sometimes coding, sometimes dicking around on QGL. It's probably the worst possible profession for my legs, constantly contracted...
And yeah, riding not running. At the moment it's down around 7-9 hours a week until I recover. When I'm back into it the norm will be 9-16h/week - the guys racing Elite are doing 18-24 (or more). Minimum one race per week, I was at one stage doing up to 3, but I think that's why I burnt out :P

Actually since I'm not going to Canberra I guess that means I'm free to do other stuff this long weekend. Like get a haircut :P

You are aware that body builders are about as "fit" as chess players? A friend of mine is a body builder and he claims to be allergic to cardio. They worry about burning precious calories. My friend whinges if he has to walk too far or lift heavy things at work (although that is also to do with interrupting recovery time).

Exception might be if they're trying to trim down for a contest..they might do a bit of cardio work..but certainly not enough to get to a point where they'd be considered really fit.
