Not really a solo, but some insanely crazy speed. Should be a laugh if you're drunk:

(hint: ffwd past the brazilian intro to 2:50.)

Some great videos there guys. I do love my Buckethead. :)

My fav is Steve Vai performing 'For the Love of God' (performed with an extended intro here at the '96 G3):

Note his:
# use of the whammy
# feedback control
# tapping
# sliding 'into' notes while playing at full speed

Comfortably Numb. It's not how many notes per second you can play, it's how you play them that matters.

Bugger, thought for sure Stairway was going to get the nod and I'd be a bit more obscure with Since I've Been Loving You. To be beaten by Insom so early AND then Sleepy as well has me gutted.

P.S. That intro is the greatest thing ever.

What is the difference between a Blues musician and a Jazz musician?
A Blues musician plays 3 chords in front of a 1000 people. A Jazz musician plays a 1000 chords in front of three people.

start it at 02:50.

seeing classical guitarists embed oldskool classical skills into modern music still blows me away

this is Nuno Bettencourt from the band Extreme

too many to post..

Anyone rem that one with guy playing a guitar with 2 necks at once ?
Im sure i seen it here once. Was like a a Giant V shave with the neck pointing outwards.

I really like Dave Gilmours solo in Another Brick in the Wall Pt2.
Mostly because i learned it note for note.

Id also add the Solo from The Knacks My Sharona (the album version)
And cant leave out Steely Dans Do It Again. The electric sitar solo by Denny Dias.

oh s***.. nearly forgot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7eqxg92YG0
Hear n' Aid - We're Stars I like this version because its done with a record used for the soundtrack to the youtube vid.

I can't link the video cause I'm on my iPhone:( but check YouTube "prince hall of fame while my guitar". It's a tribute to the late George Harrison, featuring his son, Tom Petty on vocals and Prince plays the solo at the end of the song. In terms of guitar awesomeness, it's not all that, but it's one of the most stylish solo ever!
