i've found firefox struggling with my bank sites, and sites that use capchas. But i use keepass anyway so doesn't matter.I don't think it will remember passwords that are on https sites maybe? Something else you should prolly do - activate a master password in Firefox - Tools -> Options -> Security -> Use a master password. It encrypts your saved passwords. Specially useful for laptops or if people use your PC and you don't want it to automatically popup user/pass for your email/facebook etc sites. From the firefox manual: Use a master password: Firefox can protect sensitive information such as saved passwords and certificates by encrypting them using a master password. If you create a master password, each time you start Firefox, it will ask you to enter the password the first time it needs to access a certificate or stored password. You can set, change, or remove the master password by checking or unchecking this optionpreference or by clicking the Change Master Password... button. If a master password is already set, you will need to enter it in order to change or remove the master password. |

what about the FF extension that (once you configure it) automagically logs you into websites when you visit.. very handy

what about the FF extension that (once you configure it) automagically logs you into websites when you visit.. very handy Sounds awesome for when the wifey visits sites in your history and/or you get your laptop stolen. I just stick to the inbuilt password manager + Master password as trog suggested. Works perfectly for 95% of sites. Some annoying sites won't let you save any data, and others (those with dodgy credit card purchase interfaces) actually allow the browser to save your credit card details as part of your unencrypted Form History ... good thinking idiots. |

hi guys and thx for the feedback.
i should have just stated "form filler" in my query but when i searched most results seem to group that with password managers. i do use FF's built in password manager and i know that it also recalls form data. but what i'm really after is a complete form filler, the one button fills all type. and while i'm on to convenience any recommendations for Desktop Search Programs (like Google Desktop Search). i'm finding my work files are getting hard to find because we use shared folders on a server and not everyone files the same as i do and i sync my laptop as i manage 2 branches in different towns. any suggestions here also appreciated... cheers |
